B1 Service Questions
B1 Service Questions
Greetings,
I have a B1 service reminder which is due soon. I drive TL 2008 and it has 10,300 miles.
I read the manual and it says that I should change oil, oil filter, and do brake inspection, etc.
So I called my dealership and I got the quote of $133 for B1 service which covers all inspection required by manual. I called another dealership and service woman said that inspection is not required, I just have to change oil and filter and that I should go by miles, not by actual reminders in the car.
I'm wondering what should I do and what did you pay for B1 service?
Thanks!

.... STOP!! GETTING RIPPED OFF
If B1 costs more than ~$60 with the "standard" Synthetic-Blend oil, you are getting ripped off.
PERIOD!
That's Tire Rotation, Oil Change, New Oil Filter and a "12/18/24-point" Vehicle Inspection (or whatever they call it where you go).
The "24-point" inspection is STANDARD and FREE/INCLUDED at 99% of the decent place you'd go for an Oil Change.
Seriously, it's not about, "I don't have time to .... blah, blah, blah" or "I'd rather spend the extra money .... blah, blah, blah" or "I have enough money, so .... blah, blah, blah". If you pay for something that most competent places give away for free, that's just plain fucking stupid and no one here can help you.
Factors that will Increase or Decrease cost of Service:
- You bring your own Oil = Decreased Price
- You bring your own Oil Filter = Decrease Price
- You ask for Full Synthetic Oil = Increased Price
- After reading this post, you're still a dumb ass and pay for an "inspection" = Increase.
If you do this DIY, you'll get a better filter and FULL Synthetic Oil for ~$30 and maybe an hour or so of your time.
BTW - The DIY is SIMPLE. The slowest newbie on the forum can do it in a couple hours, MAX, including cleaning and waxing your wheels.
