Axles gone bad?
Axles gone bad?
I have a 2006 acura tl automatic and when I turn the wheel left or right then press the gas it goes to 5 mph the stops and my rpms will go to like 3000 when I let off the gas and straighten the wheel it clicks back into gear and drives also it sounds like little rocks are being thrown at the undercarriage of my car I did a little research it seems like the axles are bad just want to confirm within the community also I recently changed the trans fluid filter and 3rd and 4th pressure switches it shifts fine during driving and stuff
Your logic seems sound, if I were you, I'd have someone else outside the car (carefully) look at the outer cv boot to see if it's spinning in place during one of these events, if you can replicate it. Should be easier to see if the wheel is turned all the way, and they are viewing it from the front. Just be sure they're ready to move if it decides to catch and put power to the wheels.
Someone here the other day was asking about axles - APWi from rockauto are good aftermarket options.
