I'm looking to get new TL this summer (currently have CLS) and have a question. and YES, I saw lots of threads about tints these days and also searched, but couldn't find my answer. After searching tints, I found that people saying only some kinds of tint films would work on TL navi without signal problem. However, I never saw this kind of information in CL forum that I was in few years. (I might missed it, but still didn't seem like a big deal)
Does anybody know why? Is it because 3g TL has different type of navi that CL has? I'm being very curious now.
Oh, btw, same thing with moleskin. I know how moleskin helps and everything, but I never saw this in CL forum either. Neither scratching the tint. Did I miss too much in that forum? I feel so stupid after being in this 3g tl forum.

 

its the antenna in the rear window. with a metalic tint. i didnt tint over it so i really dont know if it would but i was not willing to take my chances.

 

but 03 CL has an antenna for the navi, too. and how about for the moleskin?

 

regarding the moleskin - apparently TL's have tighter seals and therefor scratch easier if dirt gets in there. If the cl doesnt have similar tight window gaskets, it may not be an issue.

 

My understanding is that the navi antenna is on the rear deck,and the signal needs to go thru the rear window. Perhaps the CL's antenna is located elsewhere

 

CL's and 2g TL's navis are on the rear deck as well. Should i be asking in cl forum maybe?
