Question Aux Power Plug - Jumper for Always On

I don't know about you, but I really hate it that I can't use my Aux power plug when the ignition is off. Must be Japanese car trait, as my Nissan had the same issue, but not any car before. I am constantly running down my cell phone battery since I usually make shorter trips, and end up with a power hungry analog signal in the parking garage.

In the Nissan, I put a jumper wire from an "always on" fuse to the aux. fuse and the problem went away.

Anyone do that on your TL? Which fuse did you use, and which side of each fuse?

Thanks!

I ran another aux port from the fuse box. I used an "add a circuit" device you can buy from Auto Zone and a power outlet extension. The add a circuit taps to any fuse slot. There is a free slot that is constant on. I ran the wire under the instrument panel through the side of the center console. It dangles on the floor under the driver seat. I plug my cell charger there. I can then hide my phone under the seat if I need it charge while I'm out of the car.

Do you remember which slot you used? Also, about what was the cost? Thanks.

I believe that it's the last slot on the top, but it's VERY easy to test.
The add a circuit things are bout $5-10.
Probably total cost (with the lighter socket) is under $20.

Cost of the replacement panels you broke beceause you didn't buy the service manual...
