auto tranny drivers, i have a question

what RPM are you at in 5th gear around 80MPH?

reason i ask is, i thought it was always around 2200-2400 RPMS, but ever since acura "fixed" my other issue i'm reving around 3200 RPMS in 5th at 80 MPH

You're not in 5th. You're probably still in 4th gear.

thats what i thought, except when i move it over to manual mode it shows 5th. i even tried going through all 5 gears myself, the cars shifts through all 5, but is reving too high for 5th gear.

Something is really wrong in the tranny then. Take it back to the dealer, sounds like you traded your other issue for a new one.

Could be a million things. First thing I would guess would be some sort of indication problem, it isn't telling you whats going on, its indicating the wrong speed, wrong RPM, something like that. What was fixed?

If that isn't the case I would guess the torque converter isn't locking up, but I don't know how much of an RPM fluctuation you would see if that were the case.

at 80, 5th the RPMS are at 2200-2500. At 90 they got in the 2600-3200 range, and over 100, i don't quite know

The torque convertor is not locking. IIRC, this is controlled by the TCU.
