Talking Auto Starters?

Hey guys, i need help on this. I got a WDP acura 04 tl. I live in alaska and its cold every morning waking up to work. I was wondering if its possible to put a auto starter into my acura. I was also wondering, is it possible to make copies of the key? I thought there was some chip in the key so i just wanted to double check. Well sorry for being noob but thx alot, greatly appreciated

There have been several threads regarding remote start. Just utilize the "Search" function and type in remote start. But, in a nutshell, yes, remote start is possible, but range is limited with the OEM keyfob, and once you start the car, the keyfob is rendered useless. That means: you have to put the key in the keyhole to open your door if it is locked. Now, if you buy a whole different aftermarket remote start system, then it's a different story.

Regarding your question about getting keys copied, yes, that is possible too. But the stealership will charge you a pretty penny!

There is a Micro chip, similar to RFID which only the dealers can replace the key. Kinda sucks

Im pretty sure they just came out with this device recently that mimics the signal of your key and sends it to the ignition so you dont have to keep a key in the car.

I have a remote start and I love it.. I used my valet key to put in the unit. It has a 1mile range and is 2 way so it confirms that the car is on too

Modern remote start systems have a chip that mimics the immobilizer in the key so the engine will start. Its an addittional item to the purchase for the start system

It will not go anywhere until you put a real key into the ignition switch, and the steering is locked until the key is in anyway.

2way notification- I like that idea!

I got the Viper 5900. It retails for $500 installed at Best Buy, but i got a discount on it. Its a remote start and Security system. If your not lookin for the security, im pretty sure they also have another version of just the remote start.

If you are gonna put a remote starter in then put in a compustar or a autostart. personally i have a autostart, but compustars have better range. The install wasnt all that hard. it took me 6 hrs. and it was my first time. And you'll also need a "Idatalnk" that is the immobilizer bypass and OEM intergration unit. that thing will do locks, trunk, tachometer and hood pin . so there is no need to run wires in to the engine bay. the thing saved me alot of time.

remote start and after market alarm system

If you have the imobileizer bypassed, can you still hot wire the car if you don't have a key for the car? I was just wondering because I would not want to disable the imobilizer feature and have someone steal the car if I install a remote start and after market alarm system and someone was able to somehow disable the alarm system. Does anyone know?
