Auto shift knob removal.

Hey all, I've checked my FSM to see if it says how to remove the auto shift knob but it doesn't. It just shows and exploded view (PDF page 901) with what appear to be threads on the lever. But it doesn't seem to want to turn off. Is there a set screw (not shown in FSM)? Reason for asking...I'm going to check with Redline goods to see if they will customize it to white and black to match my new Redline armrest cover.

Twist the shift knob counter clockwise to unscrew and it.
There's no small screw under the shift knob that you have to untighten or anything that prevents you from unscrewing it.

If you can't do this, you need more grip exercises heheh

You won't break anything, it's just on there tight.

Workouts successful...any idea how the collar comes off the knob?

There is no collar on the auto shift knob. It's a whole piece.

Yes there is a collar...on the bottom of the knob, on yours it is chrome. That would have to be removed to get the leather off/on.

Thats not a collar. A manual TL has a boot and collar.
IIRC, it cant be removed as its a part of the whole shift knob.
