Atlanta Hail Damage

Did anybody else take a beating this past weekend up in Atlanta with the hail. Just my luck I decide to go to Atlanta for the weekend and I just got my car out of shop a week ago. Needless to say, the hail was brung to my car over and over again for about 10 minutes. Now I have about 30 - 40 tiny dings on the hood, the top, and my trunk. Anybody have any luck with paintless dent removal.

I went to a dent removal service here in DC. They did a very good job. I would recommend checking out your acura dealers and see if theres a dent removal guy they use frequently. My guy worked at an Acura dealer and had significant experience with TL's.

My brother owns a dent company and can make it look like nothing ever happened in short order. He is in Charleston but traveling to Atlanta simply to cover this event. Cost can be anywhere from $200 to $1,500 depending on the damage and time it will take to fix.

My dumbass thought... maybe if I just wash and wax my car about three times it will be all better. I can see the dents clear as day now. I'm stopping by the dealership to get it looked at it. Push comes to shove, I guess I can always replace the hood and trunk. Probably need to check out the sponsored buys section to get a top overlay for the top of the car.

The dealers don't do their own work. They call someone like my brother to do it for them and they mark up the price. Since you are in Charleston, PM me for my brothers company name and he can give you a DIRECT price. He's been doing this for MANY years and REALLY knows his stuff. He's not a 20 year old who just learned it. He is slammed right now though. If you are willing to wait a week I am certain he could take care of you

Does this sound right. I took my car to a local ford dealership that my insurance company recommend. Took it back to the collision center and they quoted me at 5800 for hail damage repairs. I was thinking more along the lines of about 2 grand. They basically told me that the hood, trunk, and roof of the car has to be replaced and that it will be about 20 hours alone in labor for the roof. Total time: 19 days. I know that I will only have to pay the deductible for any repairs that I get done but good lord that sounds a little extreme to me.

yeah man the price sounds pretty reasonable considering your car will require a full paint job

Just get the PDR done. Why do you think they call them storm chasers?

I was helping a friend move that weekend and thankfully, I decided to leave my car at his new place when his old place had gotten hit HARD with the hail storm.

And at your quote! Good luck with the PDR guy!

NOPE, that is flat out CRAZY. Why are they replacing parts instead of having the dnet guys "push" the dents out for a fraction of the costs? Sorry, but it simply SCREAMS of a dealerhsip trying to make a buck off of you. My brother can do your ENTIRE car in less than 3 days. I don't care WHAT kind of damage it has. I saw one he did that looked like it had been shot by a machine gun.

I never did get a PM from you for my brothers name/company but that's alright. He's pretty busy down in Hilton Head right now anyway.
