Is ASPEC Kit worth it on Type S

I am seriously considering buying a 2008 TL -S and I am wondering if the ASPEC kit is really worth while on the Type S considering that they were supposedly tightening up the suspension as part of the Type S offering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... oh and Black or White? I can't seem to make up my mind!

A-Spec kit is only a body kit add-on accessory on the type-S

But thats not what he asked. There are 3 different suspensions AFAIK that are available for the TL. The standard tl suspension, the A-spec suspension and the Type-s Suspension.

I do not know if Acura thinks of the A-Spec suspension as a standard TL option only but I do know they are interchangeable. So you could put an A-spec suspension on a standard or type-s TL same with the standard suspension can be fitted to a type-s and a type-s suspension fitted to a standard TL.

What I am guessing you want to know is if the A-spec is really an upgrade for the Type-s. What I have gathered in my readings on the zine is that it is slightly stiffer than the type-s suspension and also sits about half an inch lower. To me that would imply that the A-spec suspension in theory is suppose to be the most performance orientated.

But I am sure there are plenty of people in here that would know more about that.

I am not sure how much the entire kit runs today, but I was quoted over 3,000 when I wanted it. The Type-S is an absolute joy to drive... I own an 06 and an 07 Type-S... both VERY nice. The S is way more aggressive, look and performance wise. I can step on the gas on the S and it'll take off... the 3.2 is a little laggy. I havn't tried A-Spec.. but the upgrade from the 06 to Type-S is AMAZING. I don't think the A-Spec is a miracle worker, so I wouldn't imagine it being that great, or that much more different than the S.

Everytime I get in the S, it blows my 06 away, ahha. I love my interior though.. the S cannot compete

Blue lights beats red lights... that's why I take the 06 for long trips.

As for the A-spec rims and body kit, thats your personal preference.

I think the most important item on the A-spec is the suspension.

A-spec suspension is significantly better than the Type-S suspension. My brother has the Type-S and I have the A-spec suspension and it's very noticible when you drive it. However, there are other suspension that you can purchase that are better/cheaper since A-spec tends be more pricy.

Don't get the entire package. Unless you can find a cheap deal.

that's retarded for pricing. wow. go aftermarket, coilovers, get the aspec kit if you like, and your own wider 18's and fatter tires, and you're still under $5000.

^ word....I personally think the TL-S looks great, the aspec kit on it makes it look like "too much" for a four door sport SEDAN...but that's just me

they say the type s comes with aspec suspension supposedly so theres no need to change it..... but i doubt it...... when "ASPEC" exists so does a way to make money so they wont opt out on it.

I really think the a spec kit gives the TL-S a more agressive look to the car and looks like it is a lil lower without anything done to the suspension. Get the kit...car stands out more

I love such comments, much better.... under what driving conditions? we are not talking about an overhaul of the entire suspension system to an elite bmw m sport-like kits.

If you are getting a great deal w/A-Spec, go for it! other than that, save your $$$. You will not be driving so extreme to full utilize the difference in firmness/balance.

I really wish there were more kits for the TL-S. The A-spec lip kit just isn't worth the buy for a type-S. And I am not a fan of the ronjon kit on a TL-S. I remember ronjon had some concept project kit in the works that looked so damn nice but they scrapped that

I think on the Type-S the Aspec kit only adds the wheels and the lip kit. It doenst mention anything about the suspension.

I agree on some models of the tl the aspec lip kit looks good but on the 07-08 type-s it looks like poo. well at least the front lip does.

Have you considered the 24mm Progress rear sway bar? I have read from many on this forum that it really lessens body-roll on the Type-S with little sacrifice in comfort. Plus, it's only ~$140!

I have not done this yet, but am seriously considering it. (The time and effort to install it is what's holding me back). I am really against modding (because I'm cheap ), but hell, I can afford to part with $140 if it makes as much of a difference as people have claimed...

comptech sway is 22 mm and the stock is 20 it doesnt make a huge diff i had the comp n then went to progress.....HUUUUGE diff. i wouldnt even have bothered with comptech if the progress was out at the same time plus the progress comes with brackets and bushings....the comptech didnt (and that pissed off the acura mechanic because the oem bushings arent meant for 22mm bar). anyone want a comptech one? 50$.
lol

i dont understand why anybody would pay $5000 for that package?? when you buy the items seperately

$650 Aspec Suspension
$800 Aspec Body Kit
$1500 Aspec Wheels
$400-600 Tires

Thats $3350-3600 ... and you get to have TWO sets of Acura Wheels

I had a quick question.. So I've faced 4 hit and runs already, damaging my front and rear bumpers. I want to replace the bumpers of course, but can I just buy the aspec rear and front instead? I know you still need the front bumper, since its only a lip attachment, but what about the Rear? Is the aspec side spoilers a complete replacement to OEM, or also another lip add-on?
