Armrest Cover....

Anybody know if there is something out there to cover the armrest cover that fits nicely and will keep it from getting worn and beaten up ? I throw a towel over it after the gym but would like something a little nicer than that to keep on there.

Thanks for the help

I thought I was the only one that worried about this. Since I have black interior, I just throw a small black towel over it. In fact in my old 99 Accord and 04 IS300 I did the same thing. Works just fine for me.

Seriously. Do you throw a towel on a seat too?

Exactly! Why not just enjoy it and not worry about the towl to preserve it. I would think, if you can afford the car you can afford to replace the armrest in 10 years.

It's not so much the price of replacing it. Its just the constant wear in the one particular place your elbow/arm sits every day. It just starts to look bad and for something that takes that abuse everyday i just want to try and protect it a bit.

As for the seats I dont worry about them because they don't get the same type of abuse. Your wieght is distributed more evenly across the seats.

Are you talking about the arm rest on the left?

My left armrest developed a shiney/worn spot where my elbow rest . I dont have a problem on the center console rest...i guess the material are different.

Anyone know how much it is to replace the left armrest?

I agree.

And the oils of your skin mess up the leather quicker. The seats do not always come in constant contact with your skin. Instead it usually comes in contact with your clothing. It's a cheap and effective way to not spend money down the line to replace it.

FWIW, both armrests aren't leather so it doesn't really matter.

use lexol leather protector and conditioner on both the arm rest on the door and the center console.... even if they are not leather, treat them and condition them with something and they won't crack as fast as you're worrying about

After I get out of the gym, I sit in my TL so stiff-like so my arms and elbows don't touch anything. I know.....I'm crazy.....

well nice to hear there are others out there trying to solve the same problems.

Anyway, sounds like the best bet is just cleaning and conditioning. Somebody must make something that looks nice that will work.
