Anyway to get 300 hp?
Hey guys,
I was wondering since the TL type S engine is based off the RL 3.5L, is there any simple trick to boost our engine to the output of the RL engine (300hp) using Acura OEM parts?

it's me, Alan Rickman.
I would think if anything from Acura could bump it to 300 HP they would have already done it.
It should be a "300 HP' car as is - prior the the SAE changes the RLs 3.5 was rated @ 300HP. I think the only difference is the new ratings now rates the engine @ 286HP.. I think.
A cold air intake would probably help; not sure if the pro cats or any exhaust is compatible w/ the TL-S though

On the TL-S I don't think CAI will help much for horsepower. The car already has a pretty free flowing intake. It will probably make it sound better though. It would be difficult to tell but I would guess 0-5 HP.
The exhaust is pretty free flowing as well so all your gonna do is make it sound louder.
The only solid bolt on way to get more horsepower out of the TL-S is to add forced induction; Comptech makes a supercharger.

That puts you at a gross 319 hp, but realistically it will be around 300 ish.

That's not how it works...
The HP rating for the RL is now 290 HP. Squeezing 4 more HP is really just a quick timing job... they really are the same engine...

Here is one if you missed it. est 305 hp (not at the wheel of course). It's not a simple trick, but got the job done.

That dyno you listed shows 268 whp with all the mods...
Here's an identical Tyoe-S with 268 hp stock...!

which dyno is correct? which mod added thE most power?
I'm a staunch advocate that the dyno adds more power than any mod...
you at least have to:
1) use the same dyno
2) similar atmosperic conditions (temp humidity).
3) have a competent dyno tech
Finding all three of those is rare if not impossible...
