I have used Mobil 1 10W-30 since my first change at 3,000 miles. Second change was at 5,000 miles because it had been 9 months.
The "W" rating is insignificant to me because I am in Florida and we do not see low temperatures.
The only significance it has is that many engineers believe that it is better to keep the spread to a minimum to minimize the viscosity improver (VI) additives. According to some, 10W-30 is better than 5W-30. I think that is nit-picking and either would be fine in the TL.
For a complete discussion on these fine points, see www.bobistheoilguy.com or ask SodaLuvr who is knowledgable on the topic.
