anyone tired Mr. Clean AutoDry?

Looks kinda like marketing BS, but the prospect of not having to dry the car would be great. Anyone tried it with the new TL?

I know everyone has a "buddy", but... My good friend told me he had been hearing good things about it on the web, and he just called me this morning, telling me he bought it and tried it, and said it truly works. He was very excited about it, and he is as critical as anyone about a product like this. He said it's great, but that the "starter kit" will only get you through a few washes. I'm going to get one.

Overall, it works as advertised but the final rinse (using "soft" water) takes a looooong time.......I could have dried the car by hand much faster. Right now, to me, it's just a gimmick and not really a time-saver.

I agree not a time saver, but I did not have to run to dry my NBP before the spots showed. I rinsed and took my time drying and did not worry about some dampness remaining. It dried clean! Bought the starter kit and soap/filter refills at Target. $29 for the kit so go try it for yourself.

You should be able to get the starter kit for $15 to $20 after the $5 rebate. I used it and it works great but i don't know how long the cartridges will last because the water is very hard.

What about the agent stripping wax & polish from the finish. It's doing something so the water sheets off the car and no longer beads. I'm not going to even try using mine. I only wanted it for the filter, which it can't work that way because the cartridge also throws the sheeting crap on too. Back to Target.

it doesnt bead up because the water is spread onto the car, if you spray the water close up and lightly, the water will sheet too. it says that once your done washing, the next time it rains it will bead up again. IMO i think it works great, but i gotta try it a few more times before i can tell if wax is stripped off

be careful with those beads, they act as a magnifying glass if you leave your car in the sun, so Mr. Clean Autodry is doing it's job by not leaving water beads.

Same problem with plants,
don't spray water on big leave plants from the top on a sunny day,
or you will burn the poor plant. pour water at the root.

The Mr. Clean does work great, especially if you have hard water. It will save you the hassle of having to manually dry it and then work like heck to get the spots off that did dry.

I have noticed though. Since it de-ionizes the water used for the last rinse it makes the car a dust magnet. After only 1/2 a day you could visibly see the dust that had collected on my car.

I have to agree with the dust issue and the hard water part of it. Though I have to say that it does seem to repel the water pretty well. However not enough to make me go back to it.

Thanks for the feedback. I picked up one the kits up yesterday and it works like a charm... I did notice about the dust though. It's really noticeable with a black car. Like a frickin magnet. Is it just me or do I get more static shocks with this product on the car?

I have used it three times now and it works pretty good. Doesn't dry spotfree, but I could only find a few.

Regarding the dust, I find that that I have a fine layer dust on my car every morning. I hit it with the California Duster and it looks like I just washed it. I keep it in the trunk and it takes less than a minute to dust the whole car.

I just bought a kit yesterday at Kmart. It was $19 there. I'm going to give it a try this weekend.

I keep a duster in my trunk too. What a handy tool.
