Auction prices are iffy as the condition and number of bidders have a great deal to do with the final price.
Have him show you the documentation from the auction.

I'm at work at my dealership right now but I don't have access to the auction prices. I'm working tomorrow from 2-8pm and can have the prices as soon as then.

I'm going to be at the auction soon to pick one up myself.

He probably will charge you a little because I believe he gets a percentage charged from the auction. Either way you still will be getting a deal.

I'd be interested in knowing as well. Will help me to be better armed to negotiate with my bank when they contact me on my lease.

I did a quick search and an 2005 with around that mileage should come in around $13,200-$14,500.

Could always go higher or lower depending on the condition and how many are there are the time.

EDIT: BTW there are a TON coming up for auction in the next few weeks.

Yeah there are certain weeks.... sometimes it can be an "Acura week" meaning that week the auction will have a majority or Acura's. The next week could be a "BMW week" so on and so forth. I have seen these 04-06's going for 11k-15k depending on mileage and condition.

Make sure you can even negotiate with the lease buyout. Infinti won't budge on the buyout for some reason. They're idiots because the car just goes to auction and they lose money there.

Send me a pm once he gets the car for you and i'll tell you how much he paid for it. 40k miles should go for around 14-16k depending on the overall condition of the car and the bidders.

batista, what about an 07 type-s with 20k to 30k miles. How much do you think those would go for in very good conditions at the auction. I am in the same boat as one of my co-workers said that he can hook me up with his friend that goes to auctions. I see them being sold on ebay and autotrader at around $24k to $28k with that type of mileage. So I figure, if I can get my hands on a 07 Type-S at around $18k to $20k it would be a steal, or am I being to optimistic?

Thanks in advance for your input

Thanks for the great info, but I am more confused now. I just test drove a 07 Type-S at a Toyota Dealer with 18k miles and they were asking $24k. I also saw another 07 Type-S asking price $22.5k with only 24k miles. And these are dealers which of course they hike up the prices, so when I see that a 07 Type-S sold at the auction for $25k..it does not make any sense. Does that mean that these dealers are selling these cars at a loss?? Maybe I should jump on the first one at $24k (asking price, maybe I can go $1k lower then).

Most likely yes, the dealer is taking a loss. But be careful, the car could have a clean title but salvage history which could explain the price drop. Just be sure to have the car looked at by an independent mechanic, he can tell you if the car has been repaired.

I bought my 07 tl-s with 35k miles for $23,000 last week and it was a good deal at the time. Most of the ones I saw were going for $25000-$27000

Just did a quick search on autotrader. Within 300 miles of Brooklyn, NY the least expensive TL-S is an MRP with 29k miles for $22,500

07 type-s

Yes, the one I've found was in Toyota of Fleminton (James toyota). And also dont forget that there is going to be more 07 and 08s s-type comming off leases, thus the market will be even more saturated.

Although there are different animals, yesterday evening I test drove a 07 BMW 550i mint condition (clean car fax), sport, navigaion and smart key package being sold by an individual for only $29k!!!! with 41k miles. I was somewhat scare since it is a V8, but doing further research I noticed that the gas consumption will only be $280 more a year than the V6 Type-S. This is based on a 40city/60hwy; driving 8k miles per year. So, for that difference, I am really leaning towards the 550i. But, if the Toyota dealer takes $23k for the Acura, then I might go with the Acura.

So many choices nowadays!!! its great to be in the market for an used car in this economy

Wow see that is what I'm looking for and it's hard to come by out here in Cali.

Rjorge was this a clean looking vehicle? any damages or anything like that?

would they go lower?

and where was this other TL-S you found at?

Yes it was very clean and not damage, of course if I decide to buy it I will have my own mechanic do an inspection. Besides is still under factory warranty until 50k miles. It is a Type-S. I offered $23k, but they did not take it. I;ll see what happens. As I've mentioned I also test drove an 07 BMW 550i and I am in love with that one too. I made an offer to that one, so literally whoever decides to take the offer I made, I will buy that car.
