I also avoid parking next to two-door cars; they always have larger (longer) doors that swing out further and are thus more likely to hit you.

I also park far away. Exercise is good for you. I'm very picky where I park although my car still seems to get these paint scratches here and there. Just found a damn 4 line - 1 inch long paint scratch on the corner of my trunk. People around here can be so careless.

Very interesting...I also park very carefully..In fact, I chose not to park my car in the garaged parking of my apartment, as it's too tight, and scared my neighbor's car will make any dings...

I park on the street now, at the street end where not many cars passing by...I drive away in the morning anyways, so no worry about the sun

When going out to places with valet parking, or small parking areas, I "let" my friends drive their car.

My wife and kids call it "The Age of the TL". They already know it's going to be a hike from where we park.

This thread is too funny and so familiar to me. I've had my baby for exactly one year, and I'm sure I irritate my passengers that I'll drive around looking for the least risky parking space. Or I'll pull into a space, then back up and readjust to make sure at least the passenger side isn't too close to any car that might move in to the passenger side. When I park further away with hardly anyone around, I'll come out and find a nicer car parked close to mine! The other day when I parked way out on the most remote portion of the lot, I returned to see a fellow Acura-person parked right next to me. And this has happened more than once. I wonder if they want to huddle for protection, or just check out my drive?

You know, I had a meeting down town (Wash, D.C.) I found a parking spot. The spot was parallel, between a van and a Benz. The Benz was same color as my TL, black, and about 2 years old. The Benz was behind me, and the last car. The van was in front.

So I asked myself, should I park really close to the Benz, which means the van will have plenty of wiggle room to get out & the Benz can just back out and around, or should I be courteous and park with enough room for both.

Well 1 hour later I come back to my car and find that I should not have gone the courteous route. Some jackass with a dolly pushed it between my car and the van and it caught the corner of front passenger bumper. It will take about $100.00 for a pro to repair it

On a lighter note, my wife and I took a trip to the U.S. VI 2 weeks ago. We parked at Regan national. I found a spot against the wall, made the wife get out so I could park as close to the wall as possible.

Saw a guy parking his new black FX; he was walked around it looking to see if it was going to get hit by the cars he was next to. I asked him how long he was going to be out of town for & since he was going to be gone one day less than me I told him to park next to me close so he would be away from the other cars. He thanked me but declined. I was just looking out
