One of my favorite quotes: "They gave up all of their tomorrows that you might have today".

All too often we forget or just take for granted, the fact that we live in the greatest country ever devised by man. Sadly, there have been a host of changes since the mid 1800's which have widened the gap from that which was designed, fought for, and laid down by the Founders. I truly believe it is the duty of every generation to pass on that which was passed to them and not to alter the foundation. But we see this happening in laws and acts such as the Campaign Finance Reform Act, RICO, gun control, and yes.. even seat belt laws.

Freedom is precious, powerful, and frail all at the same time. Just remember this. When the government tells you it can do this or that for you, ask yourself this: What is it going to cost and what am I going to lose?

Bless all who have given their time, their blood, and their lives to enable all of us who are still here to remember them.

I dont have much quotes on my mind, nor do i have a very creative personality to come up with something special to say...

but just that i would like to thank all veterans who have helped the rest of us have a better tomorrow like SouthernBoy quoted. You have given and gave, this special Day is to you. To those who are serving today, i would like to thank ya, and wish you all the best of luck and to be safe. May all harm become deflected in its path by some supernatural forces as to prevent you from being hurt. Thank you all again...

US Army 2nd infantry division. You're welcome, and thank you for recognizing the sacrifices made by our vets. The reporter did not give freedom of speech, it was the soldier. The church did not give freedom of religion, it was the soldier. The media did not give freedom of press, it was the soldier. Freedom is not free.

It was my honor to serve (USMC)! I think everyone should do some sort of service for their country (military or civ), it just makes you appreciate what you have even more.

USN 1970 – 2000.
Navy Commander - retired

It’s nice to see appreciation for those who serve. I did not see this appreciation in the 1970s and I think it is great that Americans now realize the sacrifices that the members of the military make for their country.

As a former military brat, I'd also like to thank all those who gave life, limb and time, including my dad and two of my brothers, so that the rest of us can waste our idle hours expressing free thought, whether on this site or anywhere in our beautiful country.

(Salutes)
