I'm in Toronto. Where did you purchase? I'm thinking about buying too, but I'd like to get a good deal on it somehow even it it's just on the trade in. They were offering no deal on price of the TL and only 17,000 for my 2000 TL in perfect condition and only 36,600 kms. I think I should get more than that for my trade in.

Trade-in

I too have '00 TL, 45k km, and immac inside (some door dings and bumper scratches - < $1000 rework required - outside). Definitely would expect more than $17,000 for it.

Anyway, www.roadcompanion.ca has an analysis that showed that the value for a '00 TL should be in the order of CAD $24k for private sale, CAD $21k for trade-in equivalence to a dealer. Check out their site, delve into "new vehicles", "by model", then "finance".

I have had good dealings with Alan at Acura Woodbine. Nice upfront guy, and he is the sales manager so pretty much he can do final decisions. Tell him the guy from Hydery referred you if you talk to him.

I would like to trade in my 2000-TL with 100km on it, how much it do you think it worth? (in CDN)

Is there any dealer in totonto that are saling below MRSP? I want to get the one with navi.

Actually, I don't know if i should wait for another year when all the technical problem or most of the problem are addressed or fixed????

I doubt if you will get much below mrsp for the navi model. However I got a good deal on the extras such as backup sonar, side moldings, trunk tray, mats, tinting, locking wheel nuts, splash guards, rustproofing, paint &leather & sound sealant etc.

As far as first year model is concerned It would be a factor for me if it were an american car. Besides order times now are into late December so thats a few months of production to work out the bugs if any.

wow, that is a lot of assessories, they did not charges you any extra for all that??? Where did you buy it???

I plan it put the Aero package as well. Beside, I know canada do not have A-spec, at least for now, just wonder, This car would be my winter car as well, would you put the A-spec if you use the car for winter???

Yes they did charge me but I got a discount on everything except the msrp for the basic car. I don't think you will get a huge discount on the navi package as there are only 10% of production for Canada. My dealer downtown said that everyone wants the navi package and 6 out of 7 scheduled for delivery this year were sold in 1 day. Now if you order one its more like late Jan/feb so why should they discount if they can sell everything? I can't even get mine until late December and I basically said any colour for the navi package. I wouldn't add the a-spec for winter. That's why I ordered the complete protection package. I'll be lucky if I get it by Christmas.

? - what would the A-spec package be? I was in a test drive today and asked the dealer about that.

In light of A-spec on TL-S - mostly aero and two-tone leather - he offered that there wouldn't be one for the new TL. And type S type enhancements are already built in...

Comments?

Test drive the new TL yesterday at North Toronto Acrua, pretty powerful. Cos the one I have is TL, not type S. But did you found the navi is not as sensitive, I have to press couple time in order to get it to response.

When you wrote "backup sonar", did you mean the backup-sensor? When you ordered that, would there be holes in the rear bumper? I think that'd look a little strange, don't u think?
Anyhow, I'm in Mississauga and test-drove the TL last week. I was very impressed with it, although I didn't see the Blue-Navi which is what I want.
Erin Mills Acura has a 3 TL's in blue, black, and silver. Woodbine Acura has 2 blacks, 1 with Navi and body-kit installed (looks pretty sharp!).

Yes I was told the backup sensor was sonar. There are 4 holes drilled into the bumper, two on the side and two on the back, and plugged with colour co-ordinated sensors I am told. I wanted Blue/camel but couldn't get until Feb so I settled on Desert Mist. The only other choice was black/camel late December but I already have a black car and its too hard to keep clean and heats up like a furnace in summer.

I think you made a good choice on the colors. Perhaps you can post some pictures when you get the car. I'll be interested to hear your comments on the backup sensor. I'll be getting the TL as well, just not very sure when (I have a wedding next year so I'm trying to budget the car into my expenses. I'll tell ya all, the thing you'd do for love )
I've been trying but haven't seen a TL on Toronto's streets yet.

Picked my 2004 TL Black on Black 1 week ago. I love it.
Does anyone know how to change the CD player from disk to disk using the controls on the steering wheel?

Thanks

Sounds like a good deal.
Where did you get your car? How much off MRSP?
I'm probably going to buy a black 6mt.

I bought my 04 TL on Oct. 27...black/black no Navi. I traded in my 00 TL (38,000KM). I loved my 00 TL, but so far, I love my 04 TL even more!

To change CD's from the controls on the radio...just select the button that corresponds to the CD that you want to play ie. if you want CD loaded into slot 2, press the button marked '2'.

The only problem that I've experienced were:

1) My VSA button was sticking...I had the dealership replace it and now it's fine
2) I've lost my memory settings twice...awaiting fix from Acura.

Car feels more luxurious and more powerful than the 00 TL. The dash at night is amazing with the blue.

Voice Commands

I'm a Toronto resident and have had my silver 5AT with Navi for a week now after trading my '01. The hands free feature is quite something. You can press a button and say Disk 4 Track 4 and presto, she repeats the command and you're there. There are a number of voice commands. For previous TL owners its quite a departure from the 2nd generation car. No problems so far and I survived my first "accident" without a scratch which is described in another post. One thing previous owners will notice is the ride - the new TL is no cushy curiser.

As to used TL prices, they have taken a significant drop in Toronto. The dealers are flooded with 2nd generation TLs so some of the prices quoted here are consistent with what I was told.
