Any TL owners go without timing belt change over 150k? 200k?

I did my 105k service around the 150k mark without a problem, but doesn't mean others would be so lucky. It's not a super inexpensive car to maintain, but best not to push your luck. A timing belt going bad is a world of hurt. Some things you can ignore until they go bad, but the 105k service is generally one that shouldn't be delayed.

Talked to a few Honda/Acura mechanics about this very thing. They agreed that once you get past 120-125k you should get it done asap.
Mine was done the lasts time about 20k miles early because the water pump (that was replaced with the previous change) failed prematurely. Had it done at 195,000 miles, so not due for another 39,000 miles when I hit 300K.

I was just about 24k over the recommended time (originally changed at 105K, changed again recently at 234K). The timing belt tensioner was chirping and squealing so much one day that I replaced it before something else happened.

Hey guys! New to the forum. I have an 08 TL that I bought a year ago in Canada. It only had 87K on it. The car is an great shape and looks like it was well cared for. Engine runs fine with some odd noises here and there but they don't seem to impact the performance of the car. On my way from work today, I got a B14 service lit up my dashboard. Is that the the timing belt service? If so, anyone in the Southern Ontario region know of a good mechanic that could give me a deal to get this whole thing done? I check the Acura dealership and I'm seeing close to $1500 for that service.

I have an 06 TL with 240K miles on the timing belt. I'm replacing it next week, but I bought the car with 95K miles on it and now it has over 240K. I don't ever recommend going this long...FYI....

TL's that have been neglected of timing belt service in my experience may run like a champ but sound like crap, especially at start-up. Oils and belts and pulleys are worn out and sould horrible. You ever hear a tired TB tensioner in the winter? Sounds like a bunch of midgets banging hammers in your engine bay until they get tired!!!

Made it to 165,000 but there was a lot of engine noise (sounded like a big coffee maker). Just changed it before it went out. I definitely was pushing my luck and regret not changing it sooner because it's super quiet now.
Bought genuine (I hope) Honda timing belt and water pump kit off ebay ($160) and my mechanic did the install for $350, which I think was a very good deal.
