Any 07 --> 08 changes AT ALL????

I've just been looking at Acura's website at the 2008 TL and can't see any changes from 07 to 08. Are they going to do anything at all?

Does this mean there really won't be a MY 08 TL since it's exactly the same as the 07?

There had already been many talks about the upcoming 08 model. I suggest you do a search.

Most of the talk is speculation about the 09 model which is slated for release sometime in the Fall of 08. I was asking about the 08 model itself.

It would be pretty typical of a car company not to do anything at all to a car's design or features in the year just prior to a new generation unveiling.
Chevrolet did this with the Corvette right before the first design change since 1969. I forget what year it was ( '83 maybe?? ).

That's what I thought. Thanx for understanding the question.

Timmahh:

I do see what used to be called Desert Mist as a paint option again. Is that what you are referencing by "Paint!!". Can't remember if that was discontinued for 07. If it was then it's back for 08. They also seem to have cut back on the interior colors again. There are only two combinations regardless of exterior color. Makes sense again with regard to the next generation coming out. If they're going to be re-tooling the factory they'll be minimizing what's going to be offered.

Didn't the MSRP go up $100? Not the "change" you were looking for I guess.

Perhaps they fixed a few "bugs" that exist on a 07?

Like when your switch your headlight into "auto" and it turns on automatically when it's dark, it doesn't turn off when you turn off the ignition and open the doors even though you set it to turn off after 60 seconds.

Maybe people who have an 08 can let us know if this "bug" has been fixed.

lol...

I think I should proof read my stuffs before I post.

What I meant is when you set your headlights to turn off after 60 sec in your MID and when you switch your headlights to "auto", it turns off immediately after you turn off the ignition and open open the door, rather than after 60 sec in the MID settings.

OK, my September '07 Motor Trend (admittedly not an unimpeachable source...) says there is a new "tire-pressure-monitor light." Can an '07 TL owner confirm/deny whether this is really new (i.e. not part of existing TPMS)?

That 60 seconds means it will turn off 60 seconds after the sensor senses light.

Just say you just entered a tunnel, your lights will come one. When you exit the tunnel and the sensor senses light, your lights will stay on for 60 seconds more. That setting has nothing to do with how long the lights stay on after the car is turned off.

No, it has nothing to do with the light sensor. Read page 78 of the manual - the headlight auto off timer in the MID "Changes how long (in seconds) the headlights stay on after you close the drivers door." This is also covered on page 82, where it tells you how to select the time. It is referenced again on page 88, where is talks about the Automatic Lighting Off Feature. There is states that The automatic lighting off feature activates if you leave the headlight switch in the ‘‘{parking light icon} ’’ or ‘‘{headlight icon} ’’ position or if the lights are turned on by setting the switch in the ‘‘AUTO’’ position, remove the key, then open and close the driver’s door.

The manual consistantly says this is a lights off delay. It works as advertised, as long as you don't use the AUTO headlights. With AUTO headlights enabled, the lights go off as soon as you open the door. I've had many vehicles with the combination of headlight delay and Auto headlights, the first being a '72. This is the first one where they didn't work together. Based on the manual, I agree it appears to be a "bug", since it is supposed to work.

FYI, the '08 manual says the same thing, the only difference being that the '08 manual notes that when you shut the car down without opening the door, the lights stay on longer if they aren't in AUTO mode.

I wish there was a sensitivity or delay adjustment for the auto feature.

From what I've been reading, it seems like there are no changes at all for the 08' models. I am wondering what tatics they are using at the dealership to encourage you to purchase the new 08's?

Anyone out there visted the dealerships lately? Or anyone purchase an 08's TL-S yet?

If the difference between an 07' and an 08' is a grand or so, you bet you I'm going to take the 07.
