Anthracite TL, Side Moldings Yes or No?

Hi Guys:

I have a new Anthracite/Camel Auto/Navi 05 TL. I am getting a side pinstripe (with the little acura logo in it). put on that mathes the camel. I really hate door dings and want to protect the vehicle but I'm not sure about the look of the TL with these moldings Should I do it? Also, can you guys suggest a different color for the pinstripe that might look better, I feel that matching it to the camel is fairly safe bet.

Never been a fan of the body side mouldings on the TL.

I like the moldings but definitely didn't like the pinstripes on my TL, so I took them off.

It was designed for a specific function in mind, whether or not it achieves that function is a different question. It's all a matter of personal preference, just like the splashguards. You either like 'em or you don't.

I had moldings put on my car when I got it. If I would have known how they would look, I would have passed. I will leave them on now that they are there, but the car does look better without.

Save the money and get used to parking in the back of parking lots.

I say leave them out and take your time to decdie to put them on. If you act now and put them on, it is harder to take them off. At least you can alwasy add them later with no problem.

Agreed - I think part of the beauty of the TL is the clean doors.

I don't like 'em on most colors, But it looked pretty good on the green. I don't think I'd like 'em on RRP.

I have the moldings and I rather like them; I feel that they set off the groove rather nicely. Ultimately the question is whether YOU like the way they look.

The pinstripe normally should match the interior color. Camel with camel should look pretty good (to people who like pinstripes, anyway, recognizing that many folks on this forum do not). My TL is NBP with the camel interior and I got the camel pinstripe put on because I felt that the car looked incomplete without it.

While side moldings protect in some situations, they don't protect in all of them. It all depends how the culprit's door matches up to them. IMHO they break up the clean look of the TL's profile so I personally elected not to put them on. But then again, you may like them. Go with what gives you a greater peace of mind.

Thanks guys. Ill pass on the side moldings and get the pinstrips with the little acura logo put on to match the camel interior. What all should I make sure I get with the vehicle? I know there are 2 keys, plus 1 valet, 2 transmitters, a manual, manual case, navigation manual, dvd audio demo disk. Anything else left?

Mouldings...

I had them put on my Anthracite TL and don't regret it. So far no door dings have been suffered. They don't stand out as much on the darker color, which probably helps.

Some folks like them, some don't.
