just made my appointment!!! I got an hr drive but well worth it.. going to have them do the tensioner and get it out of the way.. thinking of asking them to take a look at some of the seals around things to see if they need replacement.. but I have been getting quotes for a few hundred more.. if anyone is within 2 hrs of this place then it is well worth it

I'm about to make an appointment. I'm at 90,000miles should I wait or just do it now?

The "sale" has been on for over a year, but as we don't know how long it will last, I'd do it now, especially at 90k and with any amount of driving, you'll be at the magical 105k within a year. It's also a great selling point whenever the time comes. I was contemplating having them do ours rather than busting knuckles under the hood, but at 71k and as we only add about 5k per year, probably won't have the car in 5-6 years when it becomes time.

This is my town. They are a great dealership but i didn't know about this deal. I just bought my own parts to do it myself but for $100 or so more, I might just have them do it instead...

Like any dealer, they'll probably ONLY install OEM parts for this kind of job. So if those parts aren't OEM, see if you can return them. Otherwise, you won't go wrong at Hamilton.

My appointment for the timing belt special at Hamilton is for this Saturday. It's an 05TL with only 39k miles but I decided to do this to make me sleep better at night.

great deal

I'm getting mine done this week, the deal is still going on...

replacing timing belt is not only when reaching the 105k mark, the belt is made of rubber which will age and crack over time (like tires). even if you don't put tons of miles on your car, you should replace the timing belt every 7-8 years.

my wife's car is 03 with only 62k, and i'm getting it done for peace of mind, especially at this price.

TB done this past Saturday. Lets just say that I shouldve asked for a loaner car ahead of time. Checked in at 8:30am, checked out at 5:30pm! LONNNNGGG DAY at the dealership. Overall, the price and facilities were top notch. No up sells either. However, the mechanic did leave a 12 inch wrench inside the engine bay. It was rattling and banging away under the hood driving home on the TP. Did not know what it was until I got home to check. Called the service rep to explain and he apologized for the situation. Will be going back to the dealership for a full inspection if it caused any damage and to return the wrench.

I asked for my old timing belt and mine looked brand new still at 95k miles. But yeah you should either get dropped off or ask for loaner.

just got my timing belt done here a few days ago and like everyone has said, everything was great. dropped off at 7:30 and left around 12:30. went through the inspection and instead of hearing how everything was broken, they showed me my part, compared to a brand new in the box part so i knew it all wasn't a scam. claude was my mechanic and don was the guy talking the whole time. great people, and great service. i highly recommend them to anyone having less than a 2 hour drive to get there

Pretty good price and time for the job. First time I had a timing belt/water pump done on my old 1990 Accord, it was an all day job at an independent shop. Dealers were wanting $650, had it done for $500.

Need to find a dealer or shop in the Dallas area that does the job at a reasonable price and gets it done in a day.

Just to let everyone know the latest pricing.

I am from CT but i have been commuting daily to do some work in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ so i made the 1 hour trip from work to Hamilton, got a loaner and picked up my car the next day with a complimentary car wash.

I had the timing belt done on 11-11-13, at 130K ($489.98) plus replaced the hydraulic tensioner ($98.00). The water pump, drive belt and coolant was included in the pricing. This is between $360 and $800+ savings from various other dealers i contacted before doing the job. Hamilton people are extremely nice, helpful and even the tech who worked on the car was there talking to me prior to the job. top notch facility and people.

The timing belt service is their main claim to fame and well worth my trip but other parts and services i asked about (half-shafts, brake service, sidemarker replacement parts) are all at the normal dealer pricing.
