I don't really follow the MID. I've let it go past 5%. I just change it every 8,000 miles.
Hold the Select/Reset button for 10-15 seconds and press it again to reset it.
Use any 0w-30 or 5w-30 Synthetic and you should be fine or let your mechanic supply you with oil.
It should be covered in your Owners Manual.

No, letting it go to 0 percent is not a problem. You should be using 5w20 or 5w30 oil.
Buying a filter from the dealer is expensive, but you can do it if you like. A s2000 filter from a Honda dealer will fit and is a little bigger while also being cheaper than the stock filter with no fit issues.
As far as the A1 warning, if you hold the reset button on the dash for 30 seconds while the warning is displayed it should reset it.

I'd grab the Bosch Premiums from here (get 75 dollars worth and get free shipping).

For oil your fine to go down to 0% and I'd use a cheap synthetic. My choice as everyone knows is Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 which can be had on sale from 22-26 bucks for 5 qts (4.73 L). I think Canadian Tire is having a sale this week on Quaker State 5w30 Synthetic as well, again a fine oil.
goood plan to take it your mechanic vs Acura/Honda.

How many miles do you have since your last oil change? I change mine every 4000 miles or every 6 months. Todays synthetic oils can last for 10,000 to 15,000 miles without breaking down, however, no matter how good your oil and filters are, your oil still gets dirty. Every 4000 miles may be over kill, but i'm still old school when it comes to my oil changes. My car has 85,000 mile on it and I just switch over to 5W20 Valvoline High Milage Synthetic Blend.

I wouldn't use a 0w20 oil unless you live in a very cold place. There are no real advantages to going with that thin of a oil. 10w30 is what I use, I feel the added protection out weights any power or gas mileage reduction. 5w20 recommendation from Acura was to get max miles from the car at the expense of wear. Slightly thicker oil helps protect the engine with little increased drag from the thicker oil.
$7 is a good deal for the filter. I like the s2000 filter as another better made and larger capacity alternative, but they are Likely more expensive.

First off, you live in Canada and you will have this oil in your car this winter. You need a 5w20 oil. Even a 0w20 would work in your environment. As far as oil filter, Purolator Pureones or Bosch are good and reputable. As far as oil goes, it depends on how much you want to spend. Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 EP receive very few complaints. I like Royal Purple, but it is pricey. Redline is going to run you a premium but also could be considered the best especially if you run extended intervals.
Honestly, if you plan on just following the MID, Mobil1 or Pennzoil should serve you well.

I tend to get it changed between 0 and 10%. Granted I have only had to do one change since I got the car. I just got it done at the dealership. Got a deal.
I will start doing my own shortly. Typically I use Mobil 1 for oil and Bosch oil filters.

the oil indicator does NOT take account synthetic oil or the brand. It's pre-programed for DINO oil and uses an algorithm that takes account RPM, temp, Engine temp, Load, etc. to figure out oil life. According to a number of UOA's, the indicator is pretty good with dino oil.
Get a good oil filter like the flitech Acura ones and a good quality oil like Mobil 1 Synthetic (you can buy a jug of it at wally-world for a good price) and your set!

4.73L gets you right to the 2nd dot on my 3.5L should be same sump size for 3.2....Also pre fill the new oil filter (and put some on the gasket as well) before putting it on the car this way it reduces the dry start wear.

Don't FLUSH the transmission with any sort of machines! Be sure to open the fill bolt first as they can be a PITA to get off. Once you get that off, simply drain the old fluid out and put in some new stuff though the filler hole. Use a fluid like Redline Racing or Redline D4, or if you wish the acura DW-1 fluid. DO NOT USE HONDA Z-1! Z-1 is a HORRID fluid that will put a death sentence on your car.
4.5 Quarts is what the car uses! It's better to ask than be sorry!
