Do you think this 3G's still alive?

Getting a lot of flooding here in Toronto (heavy rain).

Thats nothing, it floods like that here every time it rains an hour. Yes, I assure you, unless there is an aftermarket CAI and/or they drove really fast through that puddle, then its fine. Thats the issue with our CAI, they point down towards the road and make it easy to hydrolock your engine :-D.

From the looks of it, it's hardly moving. Should be fine, even with a CAI. But I wouldn't make a habit of going through huge puddles that I can't see how deep they are.

Driving in heavy rain without headlights AND driving through a puddle? Not a very smart driver.

With good reason. It's a law in Florida and here in NC that if your windshield wipers are on, your headlights have to be as well. You would think it would be common sense.

I don't think the tl was moving, it looks like the vehicle shut off in the middle hence why there are no waves where as the FIT is moving so you see the waves in the water.

btw, in Canada it's mandatory to have DRL (Daytime Running Lights). Either this car was off or it's a US vehicle without DRL (hard to believe as its a safety requirement when registering a vehicle in Canada)

You might be surprised how many Floridians don't turn on their headlights in the rain.

Maybe the driver drowned in the puddle and the car is ownerless now.

My general guideline is if I can still see the top of the curb, its shallow enough to ford. Deeper than the curb, I find another way.

Unless of course there is a deep pothole in the middle of that mess that happens to cause that corner to dip enough for the CAI to suck water into your engine. Yeh....I was that unlucky with my CL. Luckily the car was fine.

That TL is definite not on; the DRLs would be on.

Best of luck to the fellow TL owner.

Did they put DRLs on 04-06 in Canada or something? US models don't have em.

It's been the law up here to have DRLs on all new or imported cars since 1990. Yes.

As the above post stated its the law. Even older vehicles being imported from around the world (including the US) need to be retrofitted with DRL before you can get a safety certificate and put it on the road.

that isn't even to the point of damaging anything. maybe just a damp filter.

I think it's funny you all are calling that amount of water a "puddle"...
