I was eating lunch at Taco Bueno several years ago when I still had my '90 Accord (aftermarket 15" wheels, twin 2.5" exhaust tips, otherwise looked really stock) and some ricer in a Civic revved on my PARKED car when he drove past it.

I mean, you can see how subtle it is. And there was no way for them to know it had a header, CAI, pulleys, etc since I don't put stickers like that on my cars.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 3G just as the next guy does but please don't try and flatter yourself. This happens to people all the time no matter what make and year model they drive. This isn't something "exclusive" to the TL as you make it out to be.

I've had my TL for nearly 3 years now and majority of the TL drivers I see are women in their 40s+. I do not see a reason why some other driver would see a TL and say to himself "Let me screw with this guy because he's in a TL"

The guy is not flattering himself. People do see the TL as a challenge and it can invite fools like this to challenge you - especially or maybe just the Type S.
My 08 type S 6 speed with A-Spec kit invites these type of people in Infiniti G's , camaros, and Chargers often to challenge me. Even idiots in trucks with 5.7 L engines seem to hate the sporty type cars.
I can't imagine seeing a woman in her 40's driving my TL type S 6 speed with a Acura body kit. 50% of people can't even drive a manual transmission nowadays.

OP:
I believe you, that person was looking for trouble and trying to incite you. You did a good thing. If you had the type S you could have responded and smoked him!

Reading comprehension owns you quite miserably. No one said anything about women in their 40's driving Type-S 6MT's with body kits, now did they?

And lol, Type-S is 2/10's of a second quicker than a base TL with respective transmissions, so stop acting like a Type-S is to a base TL what an M5 is to a 528i.

Here ya go....now cut it out with scissors and paste on your trunk lid.

We'll call it the 04-06 "type-sports model but shoulda been a type S"

* you get the old badging cuz it's the old 04-06 before the real typeS came out.

Seriously? Why are you derailing this thread to talk shit about 04-06 6-speeds?

You're making yourself sound like a douche, all because you drive a Type-S. Or should I say a SNOB.

"you get the old badging cuz it's the old 04-06 before the REAL Type-S came out."

It's the same shit from the 04-06 MT owners facing off on the S owners and it's quite common on this forum. This thread was already derailed ... Read much?

Wow, you're pretty sensitive. Let's do an internet shot of Tequila and maybe you can loan me some e-scissors so that I can cut out that fancy Type-S badge for my trunk, lol.

Why do you think they stopped showing all those Nissan commercials with [-Shift-] going zoom!

Because drivers were taking it to heart, literally!

This is what drivers would be doing to each other:

OK all.... sorry that this thread has gone off on all sorts of tangents. I didn't imagine what happened on my drive home a few days ago, but I probably shouldn't have come on here to vent about it. Lesson learned.

I will confine my future threads to maintenance issues. Thanks.

Don't be sorry man. I enjoyed this thread! You did the right thing just ignoring the guy. Clearly the guy was trying to edge you on into racing.
I just don't always ignore people. Sometimes, I respond (safely, of course).

going for the latter here.

is it true that the 2004 models (canadian) only came with one engine 3.2 @ 270hp? Haven't punched it yet since I just got it on Saturday. Don't really want to anyway since I got a speeding ticket this year already.

I drive probably just like the guy in the Charger. I have nothing against people that travel the speed limit but me personally i prefer to travel 10-15 above the posted number. At times I get a little of a heavy foot and go way above.

So when i get stuck in traffic...I find a way to get around people. And yes that sometimes means coming up on someones bumper and then rapidly switching lanes and at times cutting people off.

I have had people try to brake check me, match car speeds with the car next to them, blah blah blah. End of the day I find a way around lol.

I see guys like that all the time. I always figured they must have diarrhea or something. The funny thing is no matter how much lane changing, speeding, swerving, driving on the shoulder they do, they often end up next to me at the stop light at the end of the off ramp. I guess I'm too old, but the risk doesn't seem worth it.
