Unhappy Another Fallen TL

Well it's officially a wrap for it. All good things must come to an end they say. I just want to thank all the guys who have answered all my questions along the past 5 years. I've learned so much and I just realized that most of my current friends are actually guys I met on here lol. Our friendship's has evolved to be beyond the cars, it's not uncommon for us to just chill at each others houses, go out for drinks or whatever else that we agree on. I love you guys with all my heart! I couldn't leave my bros behind so I'm gonna step into a 4G and experiment with that platform.

Thankfully I had a dashcam so we are still trying to "determine" who is at "fault" Captain obvious also notices determine and fault are quoted. You get the idea..

The Result...

And just a few of my bud's cars from years gone by..

Just randoms over the years..

May she rest in peace in TL heaven. Bye baby girl.

The End.

Definitely a good looking car, sorry to hear about the loss though; it's a rough one for sure.

I hope everyone walked away okay and insurance is on your side! (although it would be almost impossible not to be after watching the video)

Best of luck to you and the 4G, I'm sure you'll be able to make something great out of that too

Wow dude there is no way that is your fault. You clearly had the right way of way and he must have seen you on that very straight road going at what seems to be an appropriate speed. 100% the other person's fault from what I see.

People can be so selfish. That person tried to cut in front of you to save 5 seconds of time by not having to wait for a few cars to pass. Clearly their line of thought is that their time is more valuable than another person's life. That was quite an impact and if you were in a cattle shoot instead of a corn field that could have ended really bad.

Great pics and it was a great car. Can't wait to see what you do with the 4G!

Hooly crap. And then the video, aghhh! So sorry man. Glad everyone is alright though?

That looks like something straight out of Russia where the person at fault was blatantly negligent. I hope you get all that jazz sorted out with insurance. Sending you a PM.

TBH short of massive power adders the car was basically "complete". This winter I had planned on minor mods just to keep me busy but I believe most things in life happen for a reason. Some things just can't be explained. I'm picking up a gray 4G tomo, 2010. It has BC Coils and full camber kits all around...it doesn't have the skirt package but nothing man made is ever perfect right? oh and its 6M SHAWD..

The one year ever that I'm actually gonna be looking forward to snow. I also like to ski...no homo

Hope you are alright after the accident. Seems pretty straight forward and can't see how you would be found at fault.

Or you could say, "Hey glad you're okay!"

To OP, that was wicked, most importantly, you're alive and well. Best of luck on the new 4th gen TL and safe travels.

Obligitory "that'll buff out". Poor Enkei's. Glad the TL kept you safe though.

I think you'll like the 4th Gen. I've had both and really like mine. Still miss the 3G though.

Clearly fault of other driver, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Dash cam will be good defense for you if anyone wants to argue otherwise. He pulled into your lane of traffic.

Wow! First off, I'm glad you're still alive and OK!
I lost my 3G almost 1 year ago (10/31/16) to a similar accident, except the other driver made it further into my lane before the collision so it was pretty much head on. I'm in FL which is a no-fault state, but the other driver was still deemed at fault because his vehicle crossed over the line and was in my lane.

It doesn't matter how fast YOU were going... They had a clear visual of oncoming traffic before they decided to turn, and they crossed into your lane and turned into you. It didn't happen at an intersection and there wasn't anyone else in front of you to hide you from their sight... Plain and simple. In my accident, since it was rendered as a head on collision, it was difficult for them to determine who's fault it was, but because the angle of the vehicles at impact, it proved that he was in my lane before the impact was made.

I'm glad to hear that you're okay though. I did the exact same thing, jumped right into a 2012 4G and I love it. I had my 06 3G for 5 years, put over 160k miles on it (it had 228k at TOD), drove it like I stole it every single day, and I never had any major issues and it would've easily lasted another 200k. Which is why I couldn't justify buying any other kind of car over the TL. Like you said, everything happens for a reason!

Holay man yours looks SERIOUS..

In that split second the one thing I didn't want was a headon. I'm not a big fan of SUDDEN stops.

Same like you I wanted an "upgrade" and I had zero issues with my 3G. Plus I just feel comfortable in Acuras.

Yeah, I wish I could’ve avoided the head on... I couldn’t tell you what my body was doing just before the hit, but my mind recognized that if I’d cut the wheel to avoid him I would’ve drove into the gas station and either would’ve hit a gas pump or a van with two children inside. I didn’t take these pics or really see the damage at the accident scene because I was taken away in an ambulance, so until my family showed me the pics, I didn’t think it was that bad. You can sort of tell in the pics that my car was completely off the road at the time of impact, so I did turn away to try to avoid it... and in the pic with the car on the tow truck, you can see how far away from the gas pump I was.

I walked away(figuratively speaking), like you, and that’s all that matters. It was 4pm on Halloween, I didn’t go trick-or-treating with the kids, but I got a pretty good costume that day! Lol

I will never forget that car. It saved my life while taking a pretty good beating from a full size truck!
