Same thing almost happened to me the other day... In traffic I slammed on the brakes hard and so did the car behind me, the car behind them swerved and drifted along in the emergency lane, and finally the car behind them swerved to stop in the emergency lane.
I think we were all distracted by a very slow moving pick-up truck with furniture on it's truck bed including a mattress that was just about to fall off.
The brakes are actually quite good with good stopping power but it's also a bad thing because other people's brakes may not be as good...

You caused the slamming of the brakes? Were you the first one in line to hit the brakes hard? Sorry man, but sounds like you weren't so smart. Not everyone has a great 4-disc brake system like our TL, which you mentioned. Just saying you could of easily been rear-ended because of foolishness.
It's Friday and I am going to hit rush-hour home. Just wanted to vent now.

Glad you are ok. This is getting really crazy. Almost every day someone is posting about a wrecked TL. I guess I will stick with my Accord for a while till this evil spell wears off.

Damn..... another one ![Sad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
Did airbags deploy? based off the pic, doesnt seem as bad as it loooks. Seems as though crumple zone did its job...
hope you and passengers (if any) are alright

Wow January isn't a great month for TL owners. My car still is in the bodyshop. Let us know what happens here.
New quarter panel? Bumber, exhaust, etc. 4000 dollars in damage?

I have to echo this sentiment that our cars are somehow on God's naughty list...the other day I was driving just here in Logan and an idiot in a Dodge Ram decided it was a good idea to have a bunch of 2x4's in the back without any kind of restraint going 50.
If I wouldn't have felt impressed to stay in the left lane (I needed to turn right, so I was supposed to be right behind him) I might be dead. That wood flew out in a straight line and would've nailed my car head-on. Not just one either- all 30 or so fell out, but there were four or five that just went sailing like a missile.
Thankfully, no one has gotten seriously injured. Hopefully you can get hooked up and rolling in no time.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
Would you believe a fucking VW Beetle?!!
It's actually worse than it looks.....besides the obvious there's also some major trunk floor damage. Have to see if any rear suspension bits have been affected.
Bumper/cover & valance, rear quarter, exhaust, 1 wheel, trunk lid, trunk floor, taillight assembly, possible rear door jamb....and whatever other unseen bits. Still waiting for adjuster. Probably double the dollar amount^. *sigh*
I should've left it dirty...Jesus, looks worse when clean!

Man sorry to see that especially on a beautiful almost new 08 Type S. That always stinks to when it happens to the rear quarter panels as those are simple panels that can be swapped out. I wonder what they would do in this case? I cant imagine them bondoing up your car, so do they cut that entire rear quarter off and weld in a new one?
Goodluck with everything and hope she gets back on the road looking and driving like new!!

Ryan's loving his ATLP TL
Literally every time I sign in another TL gets in an accident. This makes me nervous! I drive like 85-100 miles a day too! ![:O](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/embarrassment.gif)
Glad you're safe!
