Another Bumper thread

Here's the story. I parked my car (04 TL) in Manhattan and when I came back, I noticed someone backed up into my car and really messed up the bumper and the grill, and a little bit of the headlights. My best guess is a moving truck didn't realize a full size car was behind them OR somebody was drunk. I am contemplating calling my insurance provider but am hesitant because I don't want my premiums to go up. Anybody know of any good body shops in the NYC area. I'm open to all suggestions.

I would say call your insurance...a deductible and a few bucks each month, thats IF your premium would even go up, would be way cheaper than paying out of pocket...I got backed into when i was parked about a month ago, and since i wasnt physically in the car, i paid the deductible and my rates didnt go up. Guess i got lucky or i have really good insurance. Good luck!

It should be comprehensive. The insurance was not caused by you, and it is also when you are parked. These things happen all the time; for example, I got keyed a few months ago, and they paid 6500, I paid 500 for the repaint.

Insurance stayed the same, but they covered all but deductible.

Call them, get it fixed, end of story.
