It's not quite that cut and dry when you start modding a car (I have a pretty modified 95 Z28, some of it custom and it hasn't always worked out. Nature of the game). Sometimes you have to give a little to get a little. Are they going to learn from what they do when they charge this guy $160 for his lights? Sure. Make money in the future off of what they learn? Sure. I see no problem with that at all, personally - and I think he's getting a pretty good deal at only $160.

Did you know that you can go to Microsoft's site, download all kinds of applications for evaluation, and send back your input? That's FREE Quality Assurance for Microsoft - by thousands of unpaid testers. They save loads of $ doing this. Are they crooks? They're making money off of that info, aren't they?

Just take a step back and look at the big picture, look at what's going on, where you're going with the car, and what you're getting out of it. It's not that bad.

Over the weekend, I took a look at the headlights. Doesn't seem quite as easy as Matt thought it would be. From what I can tell the bumper cover AND the front fenders would need to come off. I didn't even try to remove. I didn't want to screw with anything without knowing more. Plus, too beautiful outside. Needed to go riding on the VFR!

Gochan, any news?

bro, how much do those applications cost to download? (yes, its rhetorical)

so you are telling me that ronjon messed up and should have charged jinen to make the body kit? are you nuts!?!??

and a large company like Injen who designed the intake off that guys TL, they should have charged him too when they didnt?

ronjon and Injen are professionals, umnitzza or whoever they are is not! its that simple

if i used a person's property to make a prototype of something and sell it to the masses and make cash, the least i could do for that test car is give them the product for free.

i wonder if you work for umnitzza or know somebody there.....

He's gonna give me a price quote this weekend as he takes a look at his TL to see exactly how it can be done and how much work it will take...
dont go with neon tubing. it wont be bright enough. you need the cffl technology. those lights are bright, you can see em in the daytime. if you do this mod, do it right, dont use weak light that you can barely see

I just made an observation, shared an opinion, settle down.

Anyway, not every situation is the same with every manufacturer and every customer is it? If you go through life excpecting such continuity, you're in for some surprises. Again, I said look at the big picture.

See above.

Perhaps they're not professionals, I have no idea. They may in fact be a bunch of crooks. But if it were my car and I was able to see their shop, past work, etc, and was satisfied with that - I might cough up $160 to get my car done even if it meant they're going to use the prototype developed off mine to make $ later. It's not that much $. Now if it cost me $500 but the kits will later sell for less than $200 then I'd skip it.

Ah there you go - either I'm nuts or there's some sort of conspiracy, eh? Something like that must be the case if I don't have your opinion? Give me a break.

ok, here's an update. they did NOT work on the car today. i spoked with matt, the owner, it said it's about an 8 hour job if i want them to take the bumper off and do everything and the price would be roughly 400 plus or minus. and he's got a show coming up soon and he doesn't have time to do so right now. so i might just have a local body shop take it off for me and then take him the lights. he said that would drop the price dramatically. i willl keep you guys posted.

one sale and that will pay for the measilly $160 labor. Thats like a resturant charging you for each napkin, lol. They obviously don't realize the potential of the TL. I'm sure they will get over 100 sales the first month, easilly. Let me see if I can find any suppliers who can provide their services.
