Is that what that knob is now for? I've seen some newer cars with a knob on the center console...maybe that's the new "click" button instead of a touchscreen. Doesn't sound like any fun to me though. That touchscreen is sure convenient.

 

This is old news, and can be found in the 4G forum...

Since the Navi will be out of reach, as a safety precaution they are disabling the touch screen, plus of course it is cheap for them to mass produce this...

And I for one agree, this will suck... When I browse mp3s, I prefer to 'click' on the title, rather than scrolling thru it. I had this on my FX, and I hated that damn knob.

Thanks TeknoKing. Well, that just solved it for me boys...I'm glad I have a 3G Type S now. Between that, the looks we think the car will have and that front grill, I'm VERY happy with what I own. I'd still like to have the Nav Weather though.

 

The new TSX does not look better than the old model. But, since its new, it makes the older TSX generation outdated..that's all..same with TL

I am sure when people bought the 2003 TL, not knowing that the 04 model looks so much much better, they were not happy...this is not going to be the case with the 4th generation...

Yeah, I'm not digging the new corporate front end. Plus, the cars are getting too big (there I said it). I'll be happy with my '06 for some time to come.

 

Guys i saw the Tl today no tape or anything. I cant believe im saying but the new maxima looks better then the new 09 OMFG Y ACURA!!! The back is freaking messed up and the front omfg i cant even talk any more. Every one start crying. Im glad i got my 08 tl.

The only thing I dont like about the 3g nav is the location. It should be in a location more like the new g35/7. With our nav you cant keep your eye on the road and use the nav but with the G the nav is almost in the line of sight as the road is.

However on topic. I LOVE my tl S 08

 

I can't understand why the industry looks at the touchscreen navs like old technology already. 99% of us LOVE them.....Why oh why don't they listen to customers??? They all want to copy that damn BMW knob and show that they are "up to date". If touchscreen is ol skool already then I like it!

BTW the new Maxima is terrible but I think they wanted to shake things up a bit. The old one was starting to look to familiar and was not selling as well as previous generations. My personal favorite? The 89-94 Maxima SE. My mom had a 1993 model in a beautiful blue. Miss that car! I would drive that car like a maniac. The car loved to rev, (190hp not bad back then) had a great exhaust note and strong brakes. The only thing missing in my mom's car was a 5-spd. but it was available. Loved that snazzy leather interior with Bose and white gauges!

Fast forward to 2009......WTF????

 

What I CANT UNDERSTAND is, why all the newer cars starting to look like boxes and robots?

 

I look at it this way...

I don't mind if the 09 TL turns out to be very nice. It'll just make me want to buy a new car that's all.

If it looks like crap, I'll keep enjoying my TL-S.

 

i dont have alot of posts but i have been here awhile i have owned a 1G and now a 2G and drove a 3G for 4 days while my 2G got serviced after they screwed up the paint from a simple oil change.....I miss my paid off 1G, but my tl-s has better gas mileage and looks better than the 3G IMO, and im sure the 4G will look better than the grandma gas guzzling POS 3G, sorry but you all got F-ed on that 3G it looks good inside and looks ok at first outside, but its big and slow and guzzles gas and only went down hill in performance form the 2G, go ahead and hate on this message but your right, if you bought a 3G I would be upset because the 4G will prob be an improvment since acura will realize their big heave big beast 3G could not only perform better, but not guzzle so much gas, and still sit still as a 2G TL-S blows their door off. sorry to stick your dicks in the wind but fuck all you 3Gs you aint got shit on us 2G tl-s's

My brother has a 2001 CL-S (I know the styling on the TL and CL are different, but they're close enough to make a comparison) and he likes my car better than his car, looks-wise and in a few other areas. The current TL gets "shitty" gas mileage in stop-and-go traffic but it shines on the highway.

That was a whole lot of unnecessary and completely unprovoked hate, so

my next car will be something hot... and the 4th/5th model year release of the 8th gen v6 coupe looks mighty tasty.... anyone noticed the fully loaded 8th gen coupe costs damn near the same price as the tl-s....




in conclusion, the 4th gen tl will look as fucked up as the 8th gen accord sedan

It's funny how ordinary people claim to have seen the 4G TL, but professionals that chaise it with $5,000 cameras seem to always miss it. Enough of BS.

 

Lol i really saw it. Im just telling you guys the car is horrific!!! And outlaw are u trying to be funny here? The 2G's have nothing agianst the 3g's. The 3g's tl are one of the best looking cars desinged cars ive seen. And tell me again how the 3g tl is slow, just fill me in. The freaking 2g tl looks like a dam riced out honda, even tsx looks better then your car.

2G is a gorgeous car when done right. I miss my 2G.

In regards to power...yeah...outlaw...it's a HUGE difference...and I'm getting better mpg with my 08 TL-S than 2G.

 

I think he's just upset becasue when the 3G came out, his car's worth dropped 60% (from $30,000 to $12000)......

shit, I probably should buy a 2G for daily drive since it's so fucken cheap now...hahahah

Well if it's anything like the 09 TSX it's gonna be a massive failure at least in my area. The TSX has been out for a little over 2 months and I've seen 1 on the road, that's right 1!

I talked to the guy who sold me my TL and he told me that their dealership has sold 3!

 

We don't have this problem in NYC....I've seen dozens past two weeks...

Most people don't care what they drive as long as it is affordable.

Based on the looks of the 4G, my TL-S will still look hot Though I like the 4G lower bumper with dual foggies.

 

Camel lips come to mind... side profile looks like an Altima...sorry Acura you missed the boat on this one---Glad I bought an '08..

 

The only 2 things i hate about this car is the the freaking lights on the bottoms(lOOks to messy) and prolly the lack of torque on this car as all tl's!
