ok, here's the scenario ... a camaro is sitting and waiting to enter a busy 4-lane street with a delivery van behind him. the driver of the delivery van, quite a bit impatient, drives along side of the camaro, cutting off his field of vision. the driver of the camaro blows his horn -- obviously pissed off, starts going forward -- INTO MY LANE!!! imagine all this happening within 5 seconds -- from the moment i first saw the camaro until he starts entering my lane.

i stab the brakes, yank the wheel to the left, and amazingly avoided a total wreck. i just missed the camaro by inches. i was going about 45mph. also, kudos to the woman driving a saturn vue to my left for correctly reacting to the situation and also veering a little to the left.

ive always been impressed with how the TL handles in a controlled situation. but now i am a true believer in its superb accident avoidance. in those panic stricken 5 seconds, my TL told me to calm down, react, and he'll take care of the rest.

I hate those delivery vans and trucks. They have no road manners. They never let you merge in especially here in NYC.

 

I got a negative rep point for what I wrote. Oh well.
