All-Season Floor Mats

I purchased a 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System last Friday and I wanted to know if you install the all-season floor mats on top of the carpeted floor mats or do you replace the carpeted floor mats with the all-season floor mats? Yes it's a silly question, but I've always just installed the all-season floor mats on top of the carpeted floor mats in the past. Thanks.

In case you’re wondering …

Vehicle: 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System
Color (Exterior / Interior): Alabaster Silver Metallic / Taupe Leather
Miles: There were 4 miles on the TL at the time of delivery.
Deal: $200 below invoice plus free all-season floor mats, wheel locks, and trunk tray.
State: New Jersey
Photos: It’s been raining since last Friday so I didn’t have a chance to take any yet. (It’s OK though because the TL has stayed clean since delivery due to the rain.)

Not a silly question. You take out the regular mats and put in the all weather ones. I use the all weather mats until about April, then I switch back to the carpeted ones. You'll love them if it ever snows. I'm in NJ too, been rather warm here.

Love you color, you just have the wrong color interior.

Congrats on your purchase.

Should remove the carpeted floor mats and install the all season mats.

Also I'm not sure if you can hook the loops in the drivers side floor panel with the carpeted ones still there. Just put mine in today also. I'm just going to keep these in year around. As much as I go to the beach these are easier to get the sand out. Plus they look better!

i'd remove the carpeted ones, put the all season ones and sell the carpeted ones. This way you recoupe some money, the all-season mats protect the car all the time and you don't need to waste space if you were to only use the all seasons.

They replace the regular mats. There's a warning in the manual about making sure the mats (either type) are properly secured on the hooks to prevent them from interfering with the airbag sensors.

I'm curious, why would the mats being secured properly secured on the hooks prevent them from interfering with the airbags sensors? I just put them on top of the carpet mats.

Yeah this was one of the first purchases I made for my 07 TL-S. I am in the army so I have muddy boots and whatnot every so often so it is more than worth it.

I don't remember all the details, something about interfering with sensors under the seat. It's in the owner's manual if you're curious.

Totally worth the investment - they fit great, they look great and most of all they will protect your TL carpets from the harsh winter elements.

I put them on over the original mats. I thought there was enough space to still hook them in. I didn't recall seeing the comment about the air bag sensors in the manual.

NO! Silly, it's called all-season floormats for a reason, and the reason is that you don't have to clean them throughout the seasons. DUH!!

Good luck getting those all season mats to hook into the hooks of death on the drivers side. I just switched mine out today.

The "hooks of death" can be defeated. Just take some cutting pliers and nip off about 1/4 inch from the horizontal piece. That has been my only mod to the car.

Good topic. Just picked up my new '07 today, and the sales rep said I really ought to invest in the all-season mats. (I'm in PNW) I kinda disregarded him as had already been hit with suggestions I buy extended warranty, on and on, etc. Sounds like he was right. Will have to check into that.

I bought the black mats and think the contrast looks great. I usually clean them when I wash the car to keep them looking good.

I always thought they're for placing on top of the carpet mats. I guess I'll swap them out today.

Probably - I think one of the changes over the past couple years was a hole in the rear passenger mat ........ the 2004 mats probably don't have the hole....

so THATS the reason for those. Makes total sense now. I'm guessing if you're in an accident, you dont want those matts flying under the seats and interferring with sensors and what not.

Funny leedogg.

I have all season, and I really don't know why someone would put them on top of their other mats in the first place. WTF???

Anyway, as far as cleaning them, the only one that needs cleaning is the driver side! Cuz nobody rides in my car. Subject to change without notice one day when the gf gets tired of the mileage in her's (fingers crossed), but for now since I'm always driving when we head out in her RAV4 anyway, my other three mats are showroom, like new clean!!

P.S. - She don't read AZ. Whenever I come on here over her place to check on something, she just makes a smart-ass comment about me chit-chatting with my lil friends! Women! LOL!

All bits in good shape and will sell for $50.

This is the one extra I got that I paid for - except of course the music link - my typeS has black carpets so I got black mats. AS with taupe. I use Tuff Suff to clean them and it works well.
