Air Filter (not cabin filter) Question

So I did a search for "filter" and couldn't find an answer so here's my question.

Where are you guys buying your air filter's from?

And what brands are you guys going with?

Thanks!

I just go to the dealership and use the honda/acura air filter. It gets the job done.

I'll stick with OEM till my car is paid off in full and/or warranty is expired.

Just go to an auto parts store and consult the cross reference if all you need is the factory replacement.

I just use the OEM air filter. It does the job. My car is still under warranty so I dont want to change to an AEM intake just yet. You can get cheap OEM filters on line. I think Curry Acura has cheap filters or Hondaacura.com also sells them at a reasonable price.

K&N is an option, I guess I was looking more in the lines of OEM where you dont have to clean and reoil it etc..

I am using WIX, purchased from rockauto.com. WIX was recommended by various people in this forum. It fits perfectly, as far as I can tell, construction wise is similar to the original filter.

I believe that wix or fram is the manufacturer of the stock filter...

Stock filters on '04 and '05 models are bi-filters. By this I mean that the "bottom" of the filter (the side facing the incoming air stream) is oil-wetted while the side facing the throttle body is a dry element. These filters are pricey and somewhat restrictive, though they work great.

I have been using the Purolator A25585 (think that is the correct number).

Is there any guide, or PDF, that shows how to replace the air filter?

I just finished buying one from Acura (OEM) for 18 dollars (canadian)

I just need to figure out how to do it now....

I use a k&n filter. I don't really care about the performance (I didn't notice any difference) but I like the fact that I won't have to buy an air filter ever again.

I used one on my mustang for almost 100k miles and it was fine.

I bought on-line. Don't remember which website.

Lube the screws!

Just replaced mine last week. Two of the screws were almost frozen in place, and I was afraid I would strip the heads trying to remove them. Ended up using a socket driver, extension bar, and a vise grip for leverage. I shot all four and their receivers with WD-40 before reassembling. Changing the intake air filter is easy compared to the cabin air filter, but both jobs are a lot more difficult than they need to be.
