Exclamation Air filter

I'm almost to my B12 service, and plan on doing the air filters myself (other stuff gets done by the local indie shop). I tried searching but can't seem to find any good info...

What air cleaner element do you recommend? Is OEM the best? Or does it matter if I go get a cheapie K&N filter from autozone?

Same question for the cabin filter!

rockauto sells a carbon interior filter to help keep smells out of the car, I believe the part was HA5. For the engine, I'd stick with OEM since people say fram is no good, K and N will lead to problems, etc.

csmeance is correct, the ATP carbon cabin filter part number is HA5. It's about $21 shipped from rockauto if I remember correctly.

Purolator makes a decent engine air filter (Fram engine air filters are Ok, too - just not their oil filters). The Purolator part number is A25585 as I recall (verify this). If you go for the Purolator, get one that is made in Israel (it will say this on the side of the filter).

The two countries of manufacture for that particular filter are Israel and Mexico (as I recall). The one from Israel appears to be of better quality.

the K&N is not drenched in oil- it has an appropriate amount when in the factory bag.
It will not harm the TL TB heater wire because we dont have one!

The only problem with them is overoiling at cleaning time- must read and follow directions

They are not cheapie made filters. and are way better made than other brands- just look at the seal- the k&n has holes for the screws- so its sealed tight
others go around the screws~

just wanted to make sure, so for air filter im probably gonna go with an Acura OEM one since their only 20$ (cad).
For the cabin filter, does it matter if its a fram one.
I would get the ATP carbon one, but the shipping to canada is 21$, costs more to ship then the product itself.

By accident I bought an extra K&N Air Filter... if you're interested, please let me know...

I thought K&N need to change for new one everytime, and didn't notice they were re-usesable... so I bought an extra...

It gives me a few more mpg...

Good thing is I don't need to buy new filter... just clean it and drop in....

I bought 2 for 48 each, plus shipping.
