Air conditioner query....
I've been driving my '07 for about a month now, I've noticed when running the air conditioner that my centre console and the trim running along it's sides get extremely cold.
Is this normal or could there be a leak from the vents running to the rear seats?

I assume normal. Ours does it too. I figure it's just from the ducting to the back vent.
In effect it *acts* as a drink cooler for the cup holders. I've actually started to wonder if it's design feature.

this acutally was an intentional feature by acura. Their logic was if you run the A/C, you want cold drinks too, so your drinks will be nice and cold, but if you run the heater, your drinks will be hot.

I believe the trim is real aluminum, so it will be cooler to the touch when the A/C is on. Try touching the trim on your door. It too will be cool, though not as cool as the center console.

It just seems odd that it gets sooo cold. Does act as a great drink cooler, except my drink is hot coffee!!
Well, it's just on of those things I guess. I don't remember the centre console on my '03 TL getting cold though...

My 01 has the same thing- it went from a problem to a feature on gen3
Make sure the vents at the rear outlet are OPEN
that allows the air to exit which helps cool/heat the car- when closed, the cold air gets pushed there and stalls= superchilling the cd's or drinks
You can wrap insulating tape around the duct tube it wanted

Mine gets extremely cold. I noticed it the day I picked it up and the salesman was showing me how everything worked. I mentioned it to him and he said it was normal from the way the air is pumped through it. Sounds normal according to everyone.

Completely normal,
For those of you who haven't had the center console apart, their is an air duct that runs directly beneath the aluminum trim on both sides - obviously going to the rear vents. Just a bi-product of the design whether intentional or not...
Just so you know, opening the rear vents should result in the trim getting colder. Closing them, thus stopping the air-flow should lesson the hot/cold trim effect. Then again, maybe Acura engineered other "exhaust" holes within the console to facilitate hot/cold drinks - thus the effect would increase with the aft vents closed etc.. Not something I was looking for the last time I had the console removed... :-)

Yesssssss, that is of concern........

read the owner book- it says to open the vents at the rear of the console to allow air out
The air is being pumped from the dash- you are not shutting it off at the main valve- only forcing the cold or hot air to sit in the tube getting more of whatever the temp is- temp soaking the tube- and pushing fan blown against its vent door- which is not airtight
Everything will take on the super chilled temp if you leave the rear vent control closed
You can cook a cd in the winter with this device too
