Ahhhhh She turned 50 today.....

It seems like just the other day the dealer was whipping her around to the showroom, all purdy & shiny. Today while on my way to work I happened to look down at the odometer and noticed i had 50,001 miles on the odometer. I couldn't believe it's been that far already.

I have only maintained normal routine maintence with this car and have had NO significant problems out of her. Oil changes every 3000 miles instead of 5k of 7500. Air filters cabin filters etc. Makes me wish women were more like this car. Quiet, glamorous, quick to jump into lol, smells nice and doesnt talk much. You know, the "quallity" things we look for in a..... car.. lol.

I havent even needed brakes yet. I keep looking into a new vehicle but just cant find anything that gives me the satisfaction to drive that this car does.

What is it that you guys love the MOST about your TL?

Nicely put!~ I drive alot because my fiance is about 2.5hrs away from where I am stationed. I left this afternoon from where she lives to work (I'm working nights) and was thinking I love how smooth and quite my ride is.

I love how everyone turns their head to look as you drive by and the endless amounts of compliments everyday. I'm very glad I am a TL owner because if I were to spend that money on a bmer or audi like every other asian guy in Toronto, I'd just be in a dime a dozen. I never understood why people pay 60 grand on a bmer that has an interior that's 40 years old and IMO looks like crap.

Grats on 50k miles. Forgive me for saying this but you are wasting your time/money changing your oil every 3k miles. Happy Motoring.

Congratulations.

I had an Acura integra that had 219000 miles and didnt burn or leak oil ran like a complete champ my x got the 2003 tl type s and that had 110,000 miles and runs perfect - these things are designed very very well.

dont fret I also change my oil very very frequently - my motorcycles every thousand miles my diesel truck every 3000 miles. I truly believe this is one item (critical item) that makes my vehicles last. On one of my motorcycles (a Suzuki TLR which is where my name came from ten years ago) i put 22,000 miles on it and it dyno'd higher when I sold it than when it had 4K miles on it - and I am never easy on bikes I ride em very hard (just the opposite of how I drive the TL). while some might say its throwing money away (which it may be), my experience suggests that frequent oil changing intervals is tied directly to engine longevity.

happy oil changing.

the best part is the noise it makes when you step on it. i really hope acura comes out with a new 2 door because a coupe is the next car.

Coming up on 70K soon...

The one thing I love most?

Probably the fact that it's a 6MT

Congrats on the 50K mark.

This is the first car I've bought brand new and it's wierd how I still think of it as a new car. I have to remind myself sometimes that it has nearly 100K and it's coming up on 5 years old.

Don't worry about the oil changes, better safe than sorry. I've seen cars go well into the 200K range with 5-7K changes but all of the really high mileage examples say 500,000 miles, have all had a thicker oil changed at 3,000 mile intervals.

Hey, congrats! Mine just hit 150,000 a bit over a week ago, and I celebrated by starting a thread about it, too. lol. Take care of her and she'll probably be pretty trouble-free if my car is any indication.

Great to hear! This morning at 4:50 AM, just as I parked at the gym, my TL turned 67000 on the odometer. So far so good! No real issues except one of the cruise control steering wheel button light bulbs went out a few months back. Never bothered to fix it.

I dont care what these guys say either... I know what I know and I'll bet a paycheck that my acura runs better than anyone else with 50k miles on it! I think changing the oil is ESSENTIAL to a clean engine. A clean car is a better car. And wtf is Royal Purple? I thought that was a name for weed!! lmfao.... NO WONDER your car loves you!!! You been giving her PURP!!!! lmfao!!!
