After 5 years of being a member time for me to say goodbye due to flood damage

After joining Acurazine because i bought a 05 TSX and upgrading to a TL-S its time for me to say goodbye to all of you. I was in NYC/NJ over the weekend for vacation and they got hit with ALOT of rain i loss my car due to a flood. Its kinda sad to see the car everyday because it still looks mint but everything inside is destroyed. I think its time to go with a different brand so after a few days of car shopping and driving everything ive made up my mind. Here are before and after pictures of the incident that happen over the weekend and the progress of my Acura in the last 5 years. Enjoy!

This is what happened 10 mins after i hydro locked the motor

you cant say that you made up your mind and then not tell us what brand you're getting into next....thats like baking a pie and letting every one smell it, but then say, NO SOUP FOR YOU.

sorry about your car.
We pour blood, sweat and tears into our rides and it easily gets taken away from us.

wow...now you're making me worry. My WDP is currently in the body shop for the hail damage last week and I'm just hoping the shop is not prone to flooding. So what's the new ride?

Sorry to see that man, but all I gotta say is you got some balls to try and drive through that shit. If I saw any water at all I would have turned around. You seriously tried to drive through that? lol Goodluck though with whatever car you end up with.

Reread his post. He said that amount of water came 10 minutes after the car hydro locked. I'm sure some of you in certain parts of the country have seen 2 inches of water turn to 2 feet of water real quick. Especially some of you out in the desert.

His headlights appear to be Type-S

His parking lights are on so it probably looks like a full amber diffuser to you.

I think that was the day of the biggest rainfall on record for the NY area.

Something similar happened to my '89 Accord SE-i when it had 16,667 miles on it. The insurance company paid for half a new interior, a new computer, and A NEW ENGINE!

in order for the car to hydolock you have to go thru water that is high enough to get into the intake and basically drown the engine. I have seen that happen near the ocean-when it has those quick downpours-no place for the water to go-

That's what I'm saying. I mean he could have literally been driving in an inch of water at first and in that tiny stretch of road and or time, it got overwhelming. Hell, he could have been stuck in traffic for all we know...

I have seen drivers try driving on roads, that have warning signs-caution high water and you know what happens. In fact, a few months ago, a young driver in his new mustang did that. Life of car ended. We were in our truck and pulled over to make a u-turn when this mustang drove by us. We watched as he attempted to drive thru. Did not make it.

^Dude I'm not arguing here. I just don't see how we can call him an idiot for driving through water like that when we know literally nothing about the situation or how it happened. He could have been sitting in NYC traffic for 10 minutes, not moving, and had this happen to him. All I'm saying.

Anyways, sucks. Good luck and pick out a cool new car.

Man, I heard about all the rain in the NYC area, but didn't realize it was THAT much!

Sorry to see this-LOVEMYTL-S had a good idea to maybe part out the car, if the insurance company will let you. You could resell the wheels....

i did not drive into all that water on purpose. i was driving through maybe 6 inches of water and it hydro locked and car stalled and would not turn back on then 10 mins of rain led to all that water. if you look close the median that seperated the road held all the water in the lane i was in. the other side of the road had no flooding at all

my car is TL-S only thing thats base on my car is the front bumper and lip because the base lip looks cleaner then the tl-s lip.
