Advice on Replacing Lost Keys, please

The dealership is quoting me the following to replace my lost key & remote:

$125 for the remote
$ 50 for the key
$ 100 to program the remote
---------------------------
$275!

If read the posts here & on eBay, I can get used OEM remote for $25 (shipped) and program it myself.
---Will I have to re-program my original remote as well? [the one I didn't lose]

What about the key? Is the cost savings in the remote? But still get the key from my dealership?

I know this is late but FWIW, I ordered factory remote ($68.38) and key ($33.48) + $10 shipping from Delray Acura. I will program the remote myself (instructions are in this forum) and local locksmith will cut and program the key for $75. It is my understanding that when you program the new remote, you will also have to do a short re-program of the original remote so that the system recognizes both remotes.

The remote itself is expensive, if you want a cheap and future-proof option, buy yourself a switchblade key and go to a local locksmith that makes car keys. the key should be 10 dollars, the remote will be on the switchblade key (costs about 75 dollars depending on where you get it from). Use the remote off the switchblade and use the regular key. It'll be a bit heavy for the time being, but folks are starting again to mill the keys to work in the 04-06 TL so you can just pay the milling costs and send them the key to have it cut to fit.

Also 100 dollars is not to program just the remote, but to program the immoblizer system (make sure to bring all your keys including valet) and the remote to the car. Pairing the remote is very easy, the instructions are posted here, a simple search should yield them.

the remote (unlock lock trunk and panic) is expensive, 100+ dollars at the parts dept at the dealer.

the key is about 20-50 dollars depending on the type and cutting process (lasercut valet key, etc) (includes cutting)

PROGRAMMING the immobilizer (or known as the transponder) is expensive, a computer must be hooked up an ALL the keys have to be reprogrammed into the immobilizer system. This can cost from 50-150 dollars.

The switchblade key on the other hand is about 75 dollars (average) and it can be used in the future too.
