Advice needed guys.
the owner may not *think* it's been in an accident, and the carfax may be clean, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't been wrecked.
check all the body panels for matching VIN numbers. check for overspray. check for anything misaligned or out of place.
if it all checks out, i say go for it. looks good to me.

Yep he told me he'll show me all vins matching etc, my friends was telling me all the things you are telling me right now about paint check, trunk check/plastics etc
he was modding his car, and found out that one of the body pieces didnt match up to the VIN.
yeah that was weird."ok i'll just take off this NBP rear bumper and install these taillights and..."

"why is the inside of my bumper MRP?"
fuck...i've been had.
lol... Imagine this was a TL-S converted to look like it was an A-Spec for whatever shady reason
hahahaSome reverse psychology **** right there lol
I dunno if you noticed this but the CHECK TPMS light is on the dash. Sometimes tho can be a nightmare to fix and sometimes it just needs to be reprogramed. I know one time the TPMS went out on my C6 and it put the car into limp mode since it thought I had 4 run flats with no air in them!
But other than that it looks well taken care of. If you dig the color I say go for it.

its a TL-s, and the owner was trying to get rid of the car, so swapped all of his TL-s stuff over to a friends base, and vice versa.
I think its still sitting at the dealer with a TL-S VIN number but with ALL base parts.
Well...did 05's even have TPMS? I assume that's what happens when you change the gauges and not finish the system properly.
I'd almost say this was a wrecked type-s that someone actually CHEAPED out and put an older front end and engine in. Lol
What's one little detail that's different in a type-s interior that most people wouldn't change or think to change?

started in '06.
Slayer, can you get a hold of the vin number?
is it a UA6?
or a UA7?
A LOT of accidents do not show up on CarFax. There are ways to clean a title. BEST advice is to bring it to a competent mechanic and/or body shop and put the car on a lift for a thorough inspection.
As I mentioned above.....car has NJ plates and PA window stickers. What is the reason for this ??
The latest batch of posts have freaked me out a lil lol.. If I don't go through we this do we have some interested people in this car for the price? lol... I can let the owner know..
I don't have much experience with buying a car from a private seller, but I think it would be worth seeing if the seller would let you have a trusted mechanic (or Acura dealer if you prefer) inspect it before you buy it
Maybe someone else might have some insight on this.

I mentioned this to him earlier today he wasn't opposed to me taking it to a mechanic of my choice I will speak to him in a little bit again and mention an Acura dealer more specifically.
Anyway has anyone done this with a red tl + A-Spec rims? lol

Started modding before buying lol...
It's a great looking car. Like everyone else said, check it from top to bottom. Hire a good mechanic to inspect it. You have to be really careful with modded cars because you don't know how well they were put together. Yeah the price is low, but as UD said, it could be a personal issue or dire need for cash.
I think it's really cool how they tore the interior out and basically put in a complete Type-S theme. Looks good, too.
If everything checks out, you would be a fool not to pick this up!
EDIT: Slay, keep the rims the way they are. Gunmetal A-Specs look great on that color.

My first thought... Mileage. The car may have many more miles than stated on the cluster. I'm skeptical that he had the mileage from the old cluster programmed on the type-s one when he swapped one. Carfax should be able to show this, although that isn't fool proof.

Doesn't it look exactly like that?

Nope Slayer-33, it doesn't.... and you can't use sideskirts with splash guards anyway.
Reduce the price for another 250 bucks he lied
Both of those links has the sideskirts... I don't know how to explain the difference... you just see it when you get use to it.
I am sure.

To be honest first thing I said I would stay away from a this much modded car.
Personally I can't take my eyes off that glove box and watch how it is not allighned with the dashboard.
Just my taste. I am only comfortable with getting a stock car.
On the other had, just like most of the fellas... yeah good price for thise mods.
But when if the guy tells me that it has the full A-Spec while it doesn't...
and its a 05 when it is 04.
I won't give that guy a one cent.

I would never deceive anyone, specially when selling something.. I mean why sugar coat stuff? The second you lose trust in someone you think twice about doing any business with them... F that... Oh well... I was doing everything in good faith.
This just opens my eyes a bit more lol..
