You need to drill holes and mount the spoiler down. I think it has tape that comes with it too. The holes are etched on the trunk already on the underside to guide you. IMO, install the lip spoiler instead. Think most of us would agree that the lip spoiler is better looking. Do a search, you'll find a poll. I ordered a factory painted replica lip spoiler on ebay ($108 shipped). I'll get some pics up when I install it. The first one got damaged in shipping, but the second one should be good. Paint is perfect except where it was damaged I guess. It does not require drilling either.

the oem ones are taped as well, but also have bolts on either end as well....i would think double sided tape would work as well without the bolts...they dont bolt on door/body molding so i would think same applies here....

Whoops, I read your post wrong. You want the same spoiler that I just bought. I'll post some impressions later after the new one arrives. Seller id is thespoilerstore. Feedback is excellent. I one I got was dropped on the end really hard during shipment so the corner flexed and spider webbed the paint. I put it up to the trunk and looks like you'll have to bend it slightly to get it to lineup to the trunk perfectly. It should look great though. It's pretty close in looks to the factory ones that I've seen. Hopefully the seller comes through.

Bought mine on eBay from "thespoilerstore". Paid $79 + $29 for shipping. It came in 48hrs painted in NBP and the paint is flawless, showing no difference in shade. Great deal. It attaches with 3M double sided tape and there's no need for drilling holes to bolt it on the trunk lid. I added a couple more strips of double sided tape from Home Depot and it holds very well.
I'm happy with my purchase. Much cheaper than the factory spoiler and top quality.

Personally, I think you will have to drill it, the 3M tape will not hold up to the wind that is placed on that spoiler. Don't want it to fly off while you on the highway right?

well...for what its worth,my input is..
all body side moldings are stuck on using 3M double sided tape (some cars include CLIPS AND 3M TAPE) ...and after the sun hits them and really activates that glue,u should see how much of a pain in the ass it can be taking them off, with tools.
bottom line,if u use only 3M tape, after one day in the sun u wont have to worry about it flying off,if you did,3M would be out of business..

Absolutely unnecessary. It will not fly off. First the spoiler is low and aerodynamic, second it's light, third the 3M tape is very strong. People have had theirs for several years with no problem whatsoever.

I've been looking at buying a roof spoiler for my Type S. Does this guy on Ebay (the spoiler store) also sell the roof spoilers painted?

3M tape is sufficient but if you plan on keeping it there permanently I would drill it.

Thje deck lid spoiler on my 05 is starting to come off on one side. There is a good size gap between.
Does anyone know if there is any kind of sticky liquid stuff I could use to stick the lid back on? Like superglue? Lol I really dont want to take it off and retape it because the other side perfect.

I installed the spoiler I bought from ebay(thespoilerstore) friday and fit and finish is great.
The paint looks great and matches very well. The first one was damaged in shipping (dropped really hard on one end), so the seller sent me another one the day after I contacted him. I didn't even have to go through the trouble of shipping the bad one back. We had to slightly bend the spoiler to match up with the trunk door but not much. Here are the results:

can i ask how thick was the double-sided tape that came with the spoiler? the one i ordered has double-sided tape which seems pretty thick to me (about 1/16 or 1/32 of an inch thick). does that seem normal? i would think that you'd be able to see a gap when the spoiler is installed onto the trunk. has anyone else attached these with double-sided tape? when i ordered it i was expecting the really thin double-sided tape that isn't much thicker than regular tape. is the double-sided tape this thick on the body moldings also?

Tape is probably 1/16 of an inch thick and had a red backing that I removed. It's the same stuff that was used on the Aspec lip kit. There is a small gap at the end as the picture shows, but when I push down and hold, it won't go down any further. I think if it were like regular double sided tape, certain parts would not adhere to the trunk and the spoiler would just fall off. That is why they use the stuff with the think layer of foam between.
