I just had to have a TL, so I purchased one without the NAVI system. Does anyone know if ACURA has a history of pre-wiring all cars. If I were able to get the components out of a wrecked TL, when available, can I just bolt one in place?

Any thoughts??

 

No you can't. I asked them 2 years ago as navi wasn't available in Canada and I wanted one converted. They said there are numerous things that had to be done on the production line and they can't retrofit. So I didn't buy one until the navi was available.

 

This has been a topic ever since the 1999 TL came out . You get the car with it or without out it the only way to go after you get one without is the aftermarket units.
Someone claims to have did a conversion but thats alot of time & alot of money. Also Iam sure the new 2004 is even more of a problem with all the voice command stuff HVAC controls Radio along with Nav.
