You mean the Chrysler 300 is hotter than the TL? You've got to be kidding.

Seriously, who put together the data, Barry? Just curious.

I have to admit, I'm seeing more of the new Chrysler 300s on the road than TLs. Not my kind of ride but the world is filled with all kinds.

Lots and lots and lots of mommies out there rolling in those....fully equipped with the "Soccer Mom" stickers for the extra 5HP bump.

I can't imagine anyone looks at that Chrysler 300 and thinks it is good-looking. Honestly, it is such an ugly piece of :shit:

Hmm, interesting. Stopped by the Vegas Acura dealer on Sunday (closed = no salesmen ) and they had 12 TLs out front, plus the demo car. Couldn't see what they had out back. I guess they dipped the average a bit.

How's this for a reason why the 300C is flying off the lots: HEMI; HP 340; Torque 390

Yeah, they're pretty rare here, but there are more about than in the Spring. I see one, maybe 2 a week - and sometimes it feels like I see the same one twice! I'm hoping to get mine in October, so that should help the numbers. To be honest, I don't know if people aren't catching on or if the dealer's playing silly beggars with the prices.

Ahhh Vegas. Gotta love it! Would you believe it's raining right now?? Hope we don't get another flood like last August. Had to abandon my poor TL at work and get a ride from Hubby. Trucks and SUVs come in useful sometimes!

The figures are also influenced by supply. Most of the models are either newer or have somewhat limited production. Note I said most. Acura never produces an abundance of vehicles. Demand almost always meets or exceeds supply (except for current RL). The Chrysler 300 is new and production has not ramped all the way up, hence the low inventory. Remember the PT Cruiser. Now they can't give em away. The 300 will suffer the same fate once the fad wears off and the quality gremlins hurt it. I think it looks great. Quite refreshing. I haven't sat in one, but I'm guessing the interior won't be up to the exterior.
Like it or not, the new TL is the best looking new BMW on the market that's not a BMW. Although many Japanese and European models are stretching the wheelbase and pushing the wheels to the ends a la the new Volvo 40, Acura's done the best job. You could easily imagine a slightly revised front end with the BMW twin kidneys and having it be the 5 series BMW should have come out with.

You guys forgot the other significant reason the 300 numbers

I have noticed a large supply of the Chrysler 300 around town as well. I suspect the average of 11 days noted above is due to the amount of cars that belong to rental fleets. You won't see TLs in any of the rental car company fleets.

Yea, but a majority of these cars are not the 300C's, they are the 300's. The cheaper V6 models will fly off the assembly line a lot quicker, or so it seems. I don't think I have seen one V8 model yet. Even the dealer I stopped by did not have one, not even to test drive, not that I would buy that car because of its ugly looks, just curious about its power potential

Considering they're talking about the 300C I would assume he is too.

You need to think out of the box - the 300 is brand new, and there has been lots of hype, and it is a big, RWD car. So the first ones will jump off the lots - if in 9 months (approx time TL has been for sale on lots) the 300 is still up there, then it will get the props it probably deserves. I seriously doubt it will though. See my point?

The fact that the TL and the MDX are holding up says a lot about their staying power.

Offtopic:
Which reminds me: why did Scott Peterson need 12 Viagra pills (in his possession when he was arrested)? He said he was going to play golf, with over $10k in cash - those greens fees are horrible, and I guess he has "petered out". It gives meaning to playing 18 holes.

When I was looking a mini-coopers there were little to none on the lots except those already sold; Otherwise these numbers look respectable. I'm also surprised the GTO is not on this list. I had a hard time finding one of those to even test drive.

The Las Vegas dealer has a total of 48 TLs listed for it's website inventory!! (www.lasvegasacura.com) They're asking MSRP for both nav and non-nav, but 3/4 of them are non-nav.

Keep up with the conversation, but a Hemi in a TL would be great I remember people putting 454's in Vega's back in the 70's

I am currently getting my A1 service at Pohanka Acura in Northern Virginia. There are probably 10-12 '04 TLs on the lot right now. Seven of them are 6MT with navi (two of those are AM with ebony interior).

Since they sell at least 3-4 new '04 TLs per day, I'm sure that these won't last long.

Wish I had opted for navi....

Well, I know that! Was talking with tongue firmly in cheek--it's sometimes hard to tell online, though BJ has this honed to a fine art. Even I had to turn my head to look at the 300C w/Hemi, as a prior DC owner (shudder).

Yeah, it DOES make you wonder who he was going to meet on the golf course. Hmmmm......

ensley: all of the new models are 300C's.. 300C is the model designation, just as the last one was a 300M. Regardless of the engine.

There is just the option of 3 engines this year, a pitiful 6, the 250x250 v6 from the 300M from last year and the 5.7L v8.

And yes, our TL already has a Hemi in it. Hemi means nothing more than Hemispherical Combustion Chamber. Used on nearly every car in the last 15 years.

I swear I want to get my vanity plate that says Hemi32 and put a little dot between the 3 and the 2 for 3.2

just to see how many people will ask about it as 99% of america has no clue why it's called a Hemi

It was a big deal when it came out because of the better power delivery of the combustion cycle, that's why it stuck. Every Honda engine is a Hemi, even the lowly 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.9, 2.0 liter 4 bangers

Ok.. so I"m anal about terms.
