AcuraCare vs Zurich

Hello,
I have about 34k miles on my 05 TL and I was looking for an extended warranty. The guy at my dealership told me that AcuraCare (and HondaCare) is now owned by a third-party and they've had problems clearing extended warranty bills. He recommended a Service Contract with Zurich insurance. I have seen the Curry AcuraCare price of about $1500 for the 5yr/60k add-on warranty nad I think I can get my dealer to match the price on Zurich. My Acura dealer has otherwise been a very fair and reasonable place to shop, get service etc.
Have you folks heard of this "third-party" sale of AcuraCare? Any feedback on the reliability of Zurich?
Thanks,

I have Acura Care I had 50,000 on my car when I bought my warranty! I bought it for about 900 bucks until 98,000 miles! Believe me they can give you a great price if you find the right person! I just had warranty work done two days ago. Acura Care replaced the actuator in my passenger mirror, malfunction indicator light came on ( it turned out to be the O2 Sensor) that was covered and my remote was unable to repair anymore and they gave me a brand new one. It was all covered, 100 deductible but I saved 500.00 bucks! so its all good. 3rd party vendors are pretty hard to trust, coming straight from Acura is always the best bet. Of course they always call Acura care before they do the work. go to Acuracares website and look at the full benefits of what they cover and compare to Zurich! Go from there

Hmmmm sounds like their dealership might prefer Zurich so they are trying to push it onto you with some BS.

Alot of the dealerships in my area pull that BS.... oh the OEM extended warranty isnt as good... try this one.

Thanks for your responses ... they were more willing to reduce prices on the Zurich (obviously!), I'll stick to the AcuraCare.

I would go with the AcuraCare warranty. Had an aftermarket warranty for one of my older cars and it was a PITA to get anything covered.
