Acura will get PWNed by Hyundai Genesis
Like the topic said, once the Hyundai Genesis cars become available at your local dealers it'll be a madness. I can see the roadmap that this car with V8 will be outperforming the Acura TL cars in both speed and luxury. Yes, it'll wipe off that RL too.
Spec:
4.6L V8 Tau DOHC 375 HP @ 6500 rpm, 324+ lb. ft torque @ 3500 rpm.
Continuous Variable Timing and ZF 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
5-Link Virtual king pin axis front suspension
5-Link Multi-link rear suspension
26 mm front and 18 mm rear Stabilizer bars
18" Multi spoke alloy wheels
Front Engine Rear Wheel Drive
This is a 5.3~ 5.5 sec car and high 13's in the quarter.
Get PWNed.

This car is so beautiful. I crapped my pants...
the reason being that is I never liked Korean cars and always thought of them as POS, simply because their past history/reputation with making cars... till now. Things are changing seriously.

this car rocks? ...maybe it's just me, but i can't see getting overjoyed about something that hasn't even come out yet, let alone not have any reviews on it...yeah the details on paper might look good, but who says it'll be what you're making it out to be?
by the way, the V8 has 368hp, not 375hp...

The overall front looks like the pre-facelifted RL (the lights), the grille looks like it's from a Mercedes, the rear looks like an Infiniti M with a hint of Lexus LS.
I think if you were going to argue, then it's not only Acura that will get pwned..Lexus, BMW, MB, Infiniti, Audi...you know what I mean, if you just talk about power and features per dollar.

368hp with low 87 octane cheap gas.
375hp with 92/93 octane gas.

The V8 with fully loaded version is estimated in the range of 40k or +.
It would be great for those who cannot afford top line MB and BMW's..

Being Korean myself, I'll venture to say that I would NOT buy a Korean car. However, the Sonata by Hyundai is actually coming up, big time. The Genesis sedan isn't the best looking car, but Koreans are not innovators. Koreans do the BEST job of imitating succesful ventures compared to anybody else in the world. Gas mileage probably won't be good, but the power will be there. Handling/refinement will probably be a bit wanting as well. However, Hyundai is, arguably the best "bang for the buck" automobile available in the market. Even if the sedan isn't the most attractive looking, the RWD coupe Genesis is bound to turn some heads. We just have to wait and see.

Can't lie..it is a hyundai and it is korean and probably not as efficient as our smaller high output engines...but it looks really nice! I think the only flaw in the newer acura models will be the shape/styling...Spy shots tell a not soo pretty story however this genesis (first time ever seeing it) looks pretty sexy!

I like this shot.
Now, the only Korean car I'd buy is an 02 Daewoo...
...Arcadia because it's a rebadged G2 Legend. A design first sold in '90 doing well in the Aughts. Damn, that's good design, .
~Cheers~

I think it's a pretty good looking car. Even better with PS drop and wheels.
And for the expected features list, a FANTASTIC value.
Too bad Hyundai shot themselves (and for that matter ALL Korean car makers) in the ass in the 90's by building low quality. More than 15 years later and they still can't get past that. Should be an HBS Case Study on the long-term effects of poor quality on a Brand.

with mods it looks pretty damn nice...
like stated above...i'm korean also and i would never buy a korean car just yet...to me its still a hyundai and i think it'll take ATLEAST another 20 years to actually have the respect of acura, lexus, infiniti, etc.
however, they are stepping it up pretty quick..and i wouldn't be surprised if the coupe (only V6 and turbocharged V4 will be coming out if i'm correct) were taking on TL-S and G35s and so on..

It's a shame these Koreans in this forum put down on the products that came from their own country. That's not the right kind of attitude to have there... I never seen Japanese have this kind of attitude. They always look up to their accomplishments and be proud and always striving for the better.. No wonder so many Koreans are the losers..... yuck.
I say these two korean guys in this forum are messed up, need to get their mind straight. Shame on them.

its a beautiful car...but buying something from Korea is like buying something from China...the quality just isnt there...if in a few years like 2012 this 2009 Genesis is still running strong I will retract this statement but until then "ITS STILL A HYUNDAI!"
PS the new Tiburon is pretty hot too
