I have a 04 auto with some bolt ons I finally got to race a s2k today on the hwy. Don't know what year but had an intake and exhaust. I was using the tiptronic and I drug his ass five times. Anyone else got an s2k story

Sounds about right..When I raced an S2K we each had a passenger and I'm 99% sure he had I/E and he barely crept up on me from a 60 roll. I think he pulled something like 1.5 car lengths? I can't remember exactly. But we stayed even for what seemed like a long time and then he began his very gradual pull.

Good kill OP, be safe!

I former colleague of mine has a 2000 AP1. At the time I had an 02 Maxima but never ran him so, no story. He did however manage run a 13.9 sec @ 101mph with an AEM V2 intake as his only mod.

Pulled an AP2 with I/E from both a 5 and 50 mph roll pretty hard each time. He had a passenger and I didn't, but it wasn't really close enough to matter.

I would have expected the S2000 to win. They are much faster than a TL auto in the 1/4 mile. Must have been the driver. Nice run anyway!

Like F23A4 said they are capable of high 13's with just intake. I have seen a low 14's stock but that is with a excellent driver that knows how to launch well. My friend with his AP1 had I/E and only gained 5WHP on the dyno. he put down 203whp with I/E when I put down my 198whp with just a intake.

My advice, race a s2k with a "good" 6mt driver....I have no doubts he'll have you behind by atleast a couple car lengths...

IIRC, the AP1s weren't exactly high on torque. Probably why you got him from a roll. He'd chew your ass and spit it in your face if you went from a dig. Was it an older S2K or a newer one?

Thats exactly why you can't jude cars based on 1/4 mile times all the time...

You can get a good idea from their trap speed though if your racing from a roll.

I saw one trap over 101 with just an intake and I've beat them from 30 50 and 70 mph rolls...I got one of them when I only had the intake and the rest were before the PCDs. I think without the cat deletes I could trap 98 maybe...

The s2k was prob a 04 I could tell the driver was ok very fast shifts. Loud as hell exhaust is how I could tell. The tl is a very under rated car. Mine only has I/e j pipe and race pipe and a ported polished shaved heads. Mine will give any mustang gt or anything like that a good run. It runs 9.2 at 79 mph in the 1/8 mile. No 1/4 mile track around me. I beat 350s g35 sedans also.

79 mph is a very good 1/8 mile trap for a base 5AT. That's what I trapped with intake/pulley/catback.

^^ Indeed. You are probably in the very low 14s TL SLEEPER. Very nice for the 5AT for sure! Shaved and PnP heads? Sick! How did it feel after you ported the heads? That had to be a big gain.

No wonder you are creeping on S2K's

Very nice 1/8th mile time. The ported polished shaved heads really opened up the 5AT!

uh...fully bolted on, mt TL lost to an ap1 s2k w/ i/e. car had been heat soaked from a long road trip though. dunno if that was my demise, but i lost sure enough. higher speeds = better chance though. beat an ap2 s2k though? dunno what happened there...
