Acura TL Type S at Willow Spring by Keiichi Tsuchiya

If you look at the track layout of the one I linked and the other one iforyou linked to the video, the track layout diagram looks different. Run the video iforyou has linked. Pause it the moment the track layout diagram shows up. Now click on the link I posted there and look at one of the photos that indicates the track diagram. I don't think it's the same track even though it's in same location. Would you like me to post the screenshots? But I am still not 100% sure if they are the exact same or what.

Yea, meowcat, that's what I thought too. Both tests were at Willow Springs, but there's one called "The Streets of Willow Springs," while the one on that mag is something else, just like there are different versions of the Nurburgring tracks. Besides, 3-4 seconds is a big difference. BUT, who cares, TL-S rocks!

Yes, you are right, 3~ 4 seconds is a big difference. The track layout has to be different like you said...
I agree. the track time obtained using the TL-S is insane. Two second lead over the G35 is a big props. 2 second man.... 2 second.

both course are different, the one on the video is Street of willow and the magazine one is Willow springs internattional raceway. What I know is willow springs have three course
House thief mile, street of willow and willow springs international raceway
House thief mile and SOW is more twisty than WSIR.

Thanks KenUA6! That explains why there's a 3-4s difference. But anyways, it's pretty amazing the TL-S won even at the Willow Springs International raceway since it's an older design, it's FWD, and it has less hp and torque.

wow I don't think I have watched the Z at SOW before, could you tell me which episode it was in? Which 350z was it? the newest one or the one with 287hp? But even if it was the 287hp one, the tl-s still did a pretty good job! Btw, good luck beating Tsuchiya's time! :P

The TL-S obtained 1:32.88 in the SOW so that Z350 is about 3 seconds behind. Sounds like you got mixed up with the wrong version of the track. So it's not the TL-S doing pretty good but it's incredibly good...

I don't know the details, may be Acura's website has more info (my internet is painfully slow....so..can't go to that site right now...)
Anyways, I guess the basic stuff is the same, like the suspension type. But everything gets stiffened up, thicker anti-roll bars, etc. I think the tires are grippier too.

hmmm... the RDX is only in that magazine, and that's an article in a Japanese car magazine called "XA CAR." The vid is from Best Motoring, and only the TL-S, LS460, and Shelby GT500 were tested on that track. I would like to see the RDX running a lap on the track too!

Looks like they need to choose what their 0-60 time is. And haven't people gotten better times than 5.7 in their broken-in MT TL-S?
