Acura-TL has high insurance :-(

If you live in US or Canada and want really cheap car insurance, go to
http://www.investingtutorial.com/Incurance.htm and click on the second banner from the
top. They give free instant quote and it is very cheap. My insurance on my Acura was
around $500 per 6 months and their quote was $320. It takes 2 minutes to calculate quote.
First banner from the top is also insurance company that gives instant quotes but their
quotes are higher.

cTLgo, that's really cheap and really nice. Mine is ~1200 (and I have a clean driving record). It must be this area.

Damn you guys freaking lucky. Try living in Jersey, I pay $600 for six month with a clean record. That only cuz I just got married, otherwise I was paying about $1300 for six months!

Homeowner, 36 year old male, single, living on Long Island.

Three cars, less than $3,000/yr. The TL and Solara have full coverage, the Diplomat is liability only. The liability insurance on the Dippy is higher than that of the other two cars as I get no alarm, passive restraint, ABS, or DRL discounts.

Then there's the Dart. Collector's policy is less than $200/year.

Regards,

this made me crack up.....then nearly shed a tear.

try living in Jersey, north Jersey insurance is ridiculous.

I will be paying just under $3000 for the year once I pick my car up on Friday.

I was actually happy about that......you don't want to know what it was a year and a half ago. no accidents, no tickets, etc.......just new jersey.

yikes! i know how that one feels. the only good thing is, once you have your license for 3 years, your insurance drops. next drop down is at age 25

$6000 ... as in six thousand dollars?!?! Are you kidding? Thats insane even for your age bracket. A buddy of mine was in the same braket 3 years ago with a '99 camaro, a couple tickets and an exibition of speed ticket and his was 3.5K a year.

My wife has an '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and I have my '04 TL. Through Liberty Mutual, we pay right at about $1500/year for both cars. That includes 100/300/100 liability (my state only requires 25/50/25) and a $500 deductible for Comp/Coll. We both have perfect driving records, and are over 35.

Are you joking or showing off? This is the best insurance price for the TL I have ever seen.

Liberty Mutual is charging me about $575 every 6 months and I am married, above 25, have a clean driving record, have the college degree discount and also have my home insurance with them, which gives me an additional discount. I also have 100/300/100 liability with $250 deductible.

If you were quoted that much you better take it b4 they realize what everyone else is charging.

Edited post to include addtional policy detail.....

Just depends on lots of factors. For an old f##t like me, retired, and living in rural SC it is $324 every 6 months. Thats 100/300/100, but with a $500 deductable. This is one of only a very few things that are good about getting old. I will gladly trade about 20 years for $3000 premiums.

04 tl, with 1000 deductible ~1800 per year

that's the price in Lowell, MA

my '02 SLK with same coverage is 1600.

When i lived in Marlboro, MA and the SLK was new it was less than 800 per year.

ha - ha if i was only that lucky... granted im a 19 year old male... (i dont have a tl yet, but i am looking at getting one, i had a TSX that the dealer decided to leave the radiator cap off during an oil change..they had no option but to buy back the car because the engine was so messed up) but the tl with AAA is $2900/year... the tsx was $2400/year. My 98' civic was $3200 - but that was when I was 16 and 17.

damn insurance.. lol... but i love the tl :-D if only it had intelligent key, tighter steering (thats my personal opinion though, some people from what i understand like it how it is) and AWD... b ut i can live without those for this amazing car...

I have insurance through GEICO. I have a clean record and several discounts on my policy. I'm covered for low mileage (only use the car on weekends). My deductible is $500. This is the cheapest insurance I could find - $1,900 a year! My garage is another $2,600 a year, so my car costs $4,500 before I even sit behind the wheel.

Exact same coverage and deductible as you but for the my TL only....$2038 per year here in good old Boston, MA. I have only 1 moving violation from 5 years ago that will be gone come renewal time next year and no at fault accidents . Some of you guys have it really good paying less than $1K/year.

That seems a little ridiculous. A buddy of mine was 19 single, had a cobra mustang convertable SVT and paid $3600/year. Considering the TL is a tad better on safety, I would say you need to check with another insurance company.

I have GEICO too.

Even with a clean driving record, it costs me $1900/year for insurance PLUS the garage $3,500 (actually cheap for Manhattan).
