hey just to put this out there i was on craigslist a couple days ago and found a guy selling his 05 tl. also looking at the pictures i notice that he has an 08 tl-s cluster. so i texted him in regards of the cluster. he told me it was plug and play. now im thinking of swapping mine of course not the tl-s because that would be really stupid to have red gauge and the rest of the dash blue. anyways what im trying to ask is has anyone else have tired this. please post pictures i would really appreciate it thanks

just checked it looks like its sold but im sure that he had it also he put the interior of the type s front seats to door panels also the dash lights lighted red i guess he bought a crashed one and took all the parts.

i was doing some research and it looks like the gauges will work but if its from a 2004-05 it will show tpms and airbag light. for 06 i think its only the airbag light on. john-germany did it

Hi,
yes, i've done the swap with the 07 gauge in a 05 tl. It's plug'n play, but the airbag light is on and the tpms message is on the board computer.
I had the wiring diagrams from both cars i've found the differences. The Airbag Signal on the 07 will be send on can bus and 05 has a own signal line for the light. Perhaps with an 07 Airbag module it will work.

the odometer shows the miles who are on the gauge, not the ones from the car. It's a little bit stupid.

You might be able to get the dealer to reprogram the new cluster with the correct mileage. I know whenever they have to replace an instrument cluster that breaks or goes bad, they program the vehicle mileage onto the replacement cluster.
