Acura/Honda Brake problem?
Why is it that almost all if not every comparison test that Acura's are in they have the longest stopping distances? Even with the Brembo option. I notice this from my 97 Accord, to my 03 TL Type S, and now to my 04 TL. The brakes seem to warp very easily and they heat up very fast. The steering wheel starts to shake. It is the same problem across the board. I think better brakes would help the car handle better at high speeds. What is up with the brakes? I drove a BMW 330i and man when I tell you I punished those brakes and they still were very powerful and seem to be asking for more. I also read that Infiniti has pretty good brakes also. Even Lexus has better brakes than us.
WHY CAN'T WE GET GOOD BAKES????????????????

My family and I have owned many Honda products. In years past the brakes were not up to snuff. I put thousands of dollars into the brakes of my two early Legends.
However, my 2004 TL and my NSX have performed rather well in the braking department.
I have 30k on the original pads on my 6MT TL and they are just now starting to make a bit of wear indicator noise. I brake late and I brake hard. I will have them replaced within the next month or so.
The NSX sees track duty at HPDEs and runs Hawk HPS and motul 600 on the stock rotors/calipers. I will probably upgrade to some aftermarket rotors in a year or so. A BBK is a year or more away for that car.
