Thumbs up Acura Dealers "Extreme" TL

This is an 06 my dealer is selling. They are calling it the "extreme" TL.

They say it is an A-Spec minus the wheels, which are momo's.

It has the carbon fiber steering wheel, and kit around the cup holders.

Yes it's an auto, sorry 6-speed fans

It also had a Comptech aluminum battery hold down. Kinda hard to see because of the SC.

They might be holding on to that one fro a while....perhaps some realistic pricing would get it off the showroom floor and into someone's garage.

if they just put S/C on and gave some choice of wheels as options. It would sell.

I like everything on the car except for the rims. But they're simply asking too much for that car. If I spent 50+ on a car it's gonna be a BMW M3.

The service advisor (I think thats what he was) said " If you get rid of the rims it's only 48k". Seems to me someone could do all this to their stock TL for cheaper than what this sticker says.

You all have to remember- they are there to MAKE money. Someone will buy the car-just so they don't have to arrange to have the mods done. Someone with more cents than sense will buy it.

When I bought mine (12-2004) -they had an 04 SSM A-Spec sitting in the showroom, with a "make offer" sticker. I made an offer of around $38000, the dealer sticker showed $44000 and they said no way. The next week it was gone.

extremely over the top... ok I'm in late on this one.... glad they are modding TLs and selling them from the dealer, but that can't expect to sell them with that kind of premium, I should buy a TL, mod it and sell it if someone is stupid to buy it for that much

Nice but wayyy overpriced. Should have left it with the a-spec wheels( save money). I think scrap the wheels and put on a RonJon Kit..then it would be EXTREME and that would probably have a better chance of selling ...better yet scrap the wheels and get ronjon wheels and kits

I guarantee, somebody (albeit an idiot), will buy that car within a month...

People on this site think it's stupid, because we have all done the mods ourselves and know the exact price for each of those parts, but you take middle aged dude going in to buy an RL (who has the $54K in hand) and "wham, bam, thank you maam!"...you've got a sale!

I agree with the 6MT thing. Most enthusiest would want a manny not an auto.

As far as the price goes, I don't think they really care if the car sales or not. I think it's there as a marketing tool. It shows the potential of the car. Maybe they are advertising CT assessories?

"Dealer's asking price" 53K. They can ask all day, they won't get it. While its nice and all, I'd never pay that much.

Also agree with the 6-speed comment. Why put all that stuff on an Auto?

How many of you MT guys have a supercharger? I don't know of many on the site (I haven't been here long), but the only ones I've seen were on autos...don't know why that is.

But yeah, wayyy too much I'd definitely buy something else for that price.

Who ever buys that car is just plain retarded. I would laugh at there face when they pull out of the lot. I could understand the price of the supercharger since thats an installed price, but $9134 for rims and kit? Thats frickin insane. And the nerve to call it Extreme.

If I had a spare $5,000 I would consider dropping the supercharger in my 6MT. I'd really rather have turbo though.

I like it ... but obviously it's too expensive. Someone that drives like a S class Benz or something would prolly buy this car for their young kid for a first car, lol. Or maybe some middle aged guy that wants to try and feel like he owns all the "kids" trying to sup up their TL's.

Trunk Tray - $75 (Ebay)
Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel - $385 (Ebay)
Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Kit Front and Back - $113 (Ebay)
Momo 19" Rims about $555 each x 4 = $2,220
Michelin Tires about $300 each x 4 = $1,200
Total wheels and tires: $3,420
Factory A-spec Body Kit - $800 (Ebay)
Comptech Supercharger - $4,000 (Group Buy via Excelerate)
Comptech Cat-back Exhaust - $975 (Group Buy via Excelerate)
Comptech Rear Sway Bar - $110 (Group Buy via Excelerate)

Total For Parts From AcuraZine + Ebay, etc. = $9,878

I walked out the door with nothing at all done to my car for $35,420 2006 with Navi and automatic. That means ... if I bought that car for $53,000 then I would have paid $17, 579.06 for that $9,878 of accessories without install included. Install would have take a full day I'm sure with that supercharger (maybe 2 depending on the mechanic) ... but $7,701.06 for install ? I don't think so ....

There's a sucker born every minute.

Sooner or later, an idiot with more money than brains will walk in and go "Oh, my God, I'm buying that TL right now."

Then he'll find AcuraZine and get on here to brag about his Extreme TL... then people will tell him that he overpaid by waaaay too much. He'll defend himself saying people were just jealous, and say he'll never be back on AZ again. But a few days later, he'll be on here just like everyone else. He'll have a cool TL, but he won't know jackshit about how anything works. But for an extra 7,700 bucks, I'm sure the dealership will warranty everything on that car, so whatever.

God, I'm bored.
