I've driven the E90 328i and own an 07 AV6 EX-L (both autos) and my SOTP feel tells me that the the Bimmer is quicker. Honestly (and maybe it's because my prior car was an 02 Maxima), the 7G AV6 5AT is a slug.

I have beat a couple 330i Autos and a older E36 M3 Auto all stock. I would say with I/E you should pull out on top. It will be close all through 1st gear thats for sure!

I'm NOT that confident that my AV6 5AT could beat a well driven K24 Accord 5MT from 0-60mph.
While I love the fuel economy (good for a 240hp+ midsize V6 sedan), I can't think of a slower V6 family sedan for the 07 model year. Well equipped/built car overall but, I can't wait to turn it back in (off lease) in 10 months.

You know I would think that More HP saves more gas since the vehicle would have a better power to weight ratio. Less effort to pull the weight down the road. Thats why the 7th gen AV6 gets better mileage than the 6th gen AV6 even with 40HP more and 17TQ more.

i never really thought my car was a SLUG and moved like Shit lol..i guess its cause im a girl and dont really need ne thing to fast or to extreme. im pretty happy wit the accord it moves quite well for me.i think the car is quick not fast but quick ive beaten my sisters 2005 acura TL 3.2 liter 270 Hp so i think i can take a 328i it would be close but i do think id come out on top.. and i dont think the older accords like the 03 and 05 are faster then the 7th gens at all i race alot of older accords and ive beaten them all. but then again everyone that drives isnt proffesional..lol..but i got this from car and driver its a comparsion test of the 7th gen auto accord Vs the hyundai sonata V6 auto.. and this is what they said
Honda claims a mild 4-hp increase in engine output, to 244 at 6250 rpm. We've never thought the Accord was underpowered; Honda apparently thought otherwise. The 2006 Accord ripped through the acceleration test to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, a tie with the Sonata, then strongly broke to the front to clear the quarter-mile in 15.1 seconds at 95 mph. For the record, the old Accord needed 7.0 seconds to hit 60 and was 3 mph slower in the quarter.
2006 Honda Accord EX V-6 - Comparison Test
Highs: Muscular handling, serious acceleration, best-dressed interior.
Lows: Suspension muscles tell you about all the bumps, back-seat space tightest of the group.
The Verdict: The nice little Accord grew up to be a muscle car.
i heard the 7th gen 6MT does 0 to 60 in 5.9..but those 0 to 60 times are like with proffesional drivers..lol not the fastest car in the neighborhood but shes decent and i love her..lol ttyl guys be safe

As far as the base 3G TL comparison, both cars are neck-and-neck when it comes to acceleration, with the TL pulling away at higher speeds.
Back to the topic, dont sleep on the 328i.

yeah, I have that Car and Driver issue and it did encourage me in leasing my AV6, as the test numbers were very similar to those that I posted at the track in my Maxima. Unfortunately, the reality is that my Maxima could run circles around my AV6. Now, had I come from my old 99 Accord 4cylinder directly to my 07 AV6 then, I would better appreciate that 244/211 of its J30A5.

Something is different with your Accord though F23A4. I remember you said you ran a 16.3 at englishtown and that is the SLOWEST 7th gen AV6 time I have ever seen for your model. I have seen stock 6th gens run faster than that at englishtown. Even when i ran my accord at 100 degrees at 3075ft elevation I still ran a 15.5 stock lol. Your accord stock should be running atleast low 15's at that track.
On the highway (where mid-range is more into play), my AV6 feels almost as quick as my 02 Maxima....provided I keep the rpms on the high side. Overall (and like most Hondas), it's generally a nice car in search of some more torque under the hood and a little more interior space --- both of which seemed to have been addressed in the 8G Accord. ( to Honda on that!)

Regarding the RT, he was already 3 car lengths ahead of me @ 85mph when he floored (heard the exhaust) and then I floored it. When I was at 130mph I figured he had to be going about 15 to 20mph faster and a few bus lengths ahead of me. (Kind of makes me wonder how much bad the margin might have been had I been driving a TL Type S 6MT rather than Accord V6 5AT)

I may need to borrow my old Maxima (which is now owned by my wife's cousin) and hook up with my son to do some comparison runs vs the Accord.

The Maxima still has the Injen CAI, Cattman Y pipe and UR crank pulley. The CAI killed some of the lowend from the moment I installed it but seemed to gain @ midrange. The Ypipe (which was my first mod) seemed to be an improvement throughout the entire power band. The jury is out on the pulley but I picked it up for only $90 and UR claims a decent increase of 8-12hp.
